Today I had the great pleasure of meeting up with Member Outstripp at Starbucks here in Tokyo.

We had a very wide ranging, interesting conversation, or at least I was certainly not bored, I hope that Outstripp feels the same! We had our Grande Latte in Ricochet mugs. The price of a Grande Latte at one of the flagship Starbucks in Tokyo is 410 yen or about $5.31 US, which again underscores the value of the Ricochet membership, as it only cost $3.58 a MONTH, which is a whole $1.73 cheaper than a cup of coffee here in Tokyo, real value I tell ya!

Tokyo Ricochet Matinee

We met up at 11 AM and talked until well after 1 PM, and I think we would both still be there chatting, but I've got to get back to work making sure my little neighbourhood here in Tokyo is well supplied with cold beer!

Outstripp it was a pleasure meeting you, and chatting with you, enjoy the mug and safe travels!

I recommend to each and every one of you to set up a meet up in your part of the world, this was very fun, and I think I've made a new friend to boot.

Thanks to Peter and Rob for getting this ball rolling, as well as all of the other people who make this place work, it is a joy to be a member here.

That is so cool!  I hope you can make it a regular meet up!
I, too, have made a bunch of internet friends because of Ricochet.  This has been a wonderful experience for me as well.

Of course this makes it to the front page -- what great advertising for our Ricochet mugs! :)

Thanks Diane!

They are great mugs too, very nicely done, and they are very well packaged and came in no time flat all the way here to Japan. I'll be enjoying my morning cup of joe from that mug from now on, while I check and see what is going on here on Ricochet.

I know that Outstripp is busy at a seminar he is attending here in Tokyo, but I do hope he drops by to say hello too.

Again, thanks to all for this wonderful place!

Is there a virtual Quad or Commons where Ricos can see if other Ricos are in their area, for these kinds of meet-and-greets?

How did Stu and Outstripp know they were near one another?

If it's Japan, let's make it a can out of the closest vending machine.

Great to see you and Stu out front, looking good.

Wow!  This is exactly what we had in mind when we dreamed up Ricochet!  (Not the Tokyo part, but that's not a bad place to branch out....)

Stu, please let me know the next time you get together.  I would love to join you.  I live in Yamato, and am about 40 minutes by train from Shinjuku.

Hah!  Love to see this stuff.  For non-japanese speakers, the imporatnt words were, "..oishii desu ka...."  Basically "...delicious, if you would be so kind to me".

We all live in a slightly different world since Rob and Peter put this together.

Al any time you are in town let's get together, I don't get out of town much, I run a retail liquor shop, and we are open 7 days a week. Unfortunately Outstripp is soon leaving Japan, so I doubt that we will meet in person again, but who knows. Certainly if there are any other members in the Tokyo area I'd love to meet up and have a Grande Latte and a great chat.

The invitation is open any time you come to Japan on Business Rob, I'll take you on a tour of my wine cellar, about 4000 bottles we stock :)
