Thank goodness for automatic transmission (I gave up my stick shift Civic last year) and Weight Watchers sugar free candies. I didn't need to pack snacks for a 2 1/2 hour journey north to Greenville, SC, right?  I was stuck in traffic for two hours near Anderson and didn't make it to the Lazy Goat until 7:30.  I did manage to take some photos.  Pardon the weird white balance and fixes on the first. See Scott's report for more details.

Blue Yeti Update: We interrupt this post to bring you the next edition of Dave Carter's The View From The Cab (subscribe here!) podcast which Dave partially recorded live at this event. The end result is our first illustrated podcast. Our thanks to Dave, Caroline and the "cast" for this unique piece of web media.

There's no photo of me, but here's my dessert with goat milk vanilla ice cream. I deserved that, right?

Serious theological question:  Is Dave Carter omnipresent, in addition to being omnipotent?

I didn't take notes on names.  If I need to edit the labels, please let me know.

Dave's dispatcher may have special powers.

Tabula, from Minneapolis on Wednesday to Greenville on Saturday,...it's not theological, but mechanical, and it does require a lot of time spent staring at the highway.  If it's any consolation, when my family wants to know what part of the country I'm in, they normal ask, "So where's Waldo today?"

And I'm not touching that Paris Hilton line.  Nuh uh.

Yes.  I trust that you've seen the famous Chuck Norris Facts?  Casey Taylor consulted his trusty Cherokee Syllabary last night and confirmed that "Chuck Norris" is an ancient Cherokee phrase that translates to "Dave Carter" in contemporary American English.

And I thought a Syllabary was a smart phone...

Oh, Caroline!  Thanks so much for posting these photos!  I knew TOD was hotter in person than her profile photo suggests...

And I hope all of the men took my advice and did not give Casey Taylor a hug.  He doesn't take too kindly to men huggin'.

I'm still not convinced it's entirely mechanical. I think your trunk has a "Beam me to the Next Ricochet Party" feature?

We broke a little early before anyone could come up with bourbon and cigars, so no hugging to cap off the night. I'll be ready next time, though!

Thank you Blue Yeti, for linking the podcast to Caroline's great photos. This is only a taste of the marvelous conversation, but it was all great fun. My daughter says that she can tell that I can't hear thunder anymore, because the photo shows that I'm the only one that has to lean forward to hear Rascalfair. To which i said, "Huh?"

Dave, as I listened to the audio feed I thought I was listening to Charles Kerault. Except that Charles Kerault wasn't really that funny. Don't give up your day job but don't stop with what you are doing here.

Late to the virtual conversation this week because lightning struck near our vacation rental house while we were gallavanting in Greenville.  Knocked out the submersible pump and we had no running water for 36 hours.  We still had a/c and electric so we weren't exactly roughing it, though. Our daughter put every storage container, pan and cooler she could find out on the deck to collect rainwater for basic functions and we ate out until it was fixed.   Right after that we had family come to visit so here I am whistling in an empty room. No worries, I do it all the time!

Thanks for posting these photos, Caroline.  Glad you escaped the traffic gridlock in time to join us.  Loved the podcast, too, Dave.  Interesting to hear what was being said at the other end of the table!

We'll have to do a southern meetup again.  Atlanta sounds great, and a fall or midwinter Orlando gathering could also attract Ricochet snowbirds as well as locals. Can't you just picture a big group of Ricocheteers posing for pictures in front of Cinderella's castle?  Expand the Ricochet clothing line and we'll wear logo shirts!
