Ricochet's highly caffeinated road warrior is back from his hiatus to explain how simple truck stop coffee isn't quite so simple anymore.  Or as he wrote, "Ohmigodthisstuffhasmewired!"  You may have to have a shot of coffee yourself to keep up with this one.

"Kenyan ... for a limited time only. Lord hear our prayer."

I about fell outta my chair and felt an uncontrollable urge to genuflect.

I'd be in deep you-know-what if I tried that mess.

This reminds me of a Frasier episode, where they flash back to Frasier's first days in Seattle.

Niles orders some hideously complicated drink and Frasier order's a black coffee.  Niles excuses Frasier to the waitress by saying he "just got off the noon stage."

Sometimes I feel like I'm getting off that same stage when I look at the bizarre concoctions people come up with.  For fun, ask someone at a Starbucks to describe what one of their beverages is.  Nine times out of ten the people I ask have no idea.

I don't feel particularly adventurous when it comes to Starbucks, or it's competitors.  I can't pronounce the stuff and I have no idea what's in it.  So I just order simple coffee, if they have it.  I have enough adventures on the highway every day.

Back in the day, truck stop coffee was not coffe unless Ya could stand a spoon in it. Good for patching holes in asphalt as well.

Yes!  And it was served by the slice.

Nostalgic digression, actually.  I think these new models have a flux capacitor or something.

Dave, I feel a little sheepish saying this...but , every morning I make one huge cup of that coffee that has no nuts from Columbia with real cream. After 30 minutes I am able to locate Ricochet on my favorites bar.

Jee, Dave...

Your experience reminds me of the time I accidentally took my kids' ADD med.  I felt like the world had gone into sloooooooooooooow mooooooooootioooooooon.  I needed to sprint a marathon right now!  See, I'm the one who gets high from a decaf, sugary mocha.

Decaf is one of the few things I think should get a man hung at the Hague.

I'm going to become the oddball in the group by saying that coffee (or any other caffeinated drink) has no affect on me at all.  I can drink a cup of espresso and then take a nap. But that doesn't mean I don't love a good cup of Community New Orleans Blend! I love coffee.

Now I feel like one of those people that says they actually enjoy the taste of beer, side effects aside.

I guess it's a good thing I am one of those people...

For the flux capacitor to work you have to get to 88 MPH.  You claim to be limited to 60MPH

It's gotta be better than the JP4 and boot-black they served in the Air Force.  Or maybe not.

Dave, how much sweet tea does it take to feel so jaunty (since I'm not really a coffee person)? Thanks, as always!
