In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
It’s another super-sized edition of the podcast with our guests The Weekly Standard‘s Andy Ferguson and The Washington Free Beacon’s Matt Continetti. We cover James’ dental adventures, Lance Armstrong, guns and the Chicago way, dueling Nixons, Republicans adrift, and Zero Dark Thirty.

Nice touch EJ, posed on LaSalle St. in tranquil, no crime at all, move along folks, nothing to see here Chicago.
Yes Rob, Peter, and James, do come visit us here in the People’s Republic of Illinois.
We’ll give you a nice Chicago welcome. Just don’t ask no questions.
It’s the one on the right that frightens me most.
I agree with Stephen:
Peter: “Won’t you join us for a round of sporting clays?”
Rob: “This cool prop gun was used in Pulp Fiction.”
James: “One false move and you’re meat vapor….”
Peter needs some Stairmaster time.
Nice pic! :)
I love Andy Ferguson. I would join Ricochet all over again for access to a podcast of him hosting different people telling Richard Nixon stories!
Good podcast, gentlemen, but… there’s something from this podcast that is profoundly disturbing and disappointing. I’ll see if I can put words to the thought and post it up on the member feed.
I mean, the whole “let’s be realistic about what we can accomplish” thing seems to miss the point entirely… Like I said, this is half-baked, but… I can’t help but feel like we can do better.
Ferguson’s point on why Chicago will not be Detroit was an excellent one. It also should be remembered Detroit in many ways was like all the other rust belt towns that relied on one industry to fuel growth.
Don’t like to gripe, but there’s nothing worse than having the punchline of a joke cut out from under you. Fixation on the rule sometimes leads to the detriment of expression.
Hunger for Bush. That appeals to my demographic.I am proud of GHWB and also GWB. (SWIDT?)
Haven’t had a chance to listen to the podcast, but the graphic called up a Lileks phrase from the depths of my memory, something about not wearing a fedora because of a claimed resemblance to a munchkin version of guys and dolls…..
This is the only podcast on the Net where you’ll hear “Gummipuppen” used in context. Awesome!
About that Sacramento Bureau for WFB, I’m available.
Andy Ferguson was hilarious and right on target — please bring him back on soon.
~Paules: I *live* to slip that word into conversation.
Urghh, Can we please Stop talking about Christie being any kind of potential presidential candidate, Wall Street might forget his misgivings Like the Sandy enbrace, his hissy fit over the Sandy bill (knowing full well it was loaded with Pork), his condemnation of the NRA Ad, but conservatives won’t.
The Nixon stories were great guys
Excellent podcast – Rob was in particularly good form, and very un-squishlike, Andy Ferguson – can’t get enough of that guy.
One point – to the best of my knowledge, only three terrorists were waterboarded, and none during the current administration. If the film seems to show otherwise, it is incorrect. Other enhanced interrogation techniques may still be available.
Can we get Nixon on? Or is he too busy right now?
We tried. He can’t get a decent Skype connection in his current location.

Really? I wouldn’t have thought he was all that far from Venice ;-o

I might be a little dim, but can someone tell me the word that was bleeped out? In a clean way, of course. Perhaps what it rhymes with?
Rhymes with pits.
Thank you, Mr. Yeti!
