Hey, it's the first Goldberg, Long, and Podhoretz of the new year and our merry band of gentlemen and gentile riff on a wide variety of topics for you. This week: funiculars, Al Gore sells to Al-Jazeera, just where are Obama's women cabinet officers, lower standards for Mount Rushmore, Chuck Hagel, Downton Abbey, the Oscars, Game of Thrones, the Oscars and Lincoln, and yes, trillion dollar coins and John's out of the box idea for solving the debt crisis.
EJHill is the Milton Friedman of Photoshoppers.

EJHill is the Milton Friedman of Photoshoppers.
I am regularly impressed with the photo shop cleverness that EJHill displays but this one is truly awesome.

EJHill, that is awesome! I hope the podcast is half as good as your photoshop for it is.

Re: Trillion Dollar Coins
Um...that stuff about Ted Knight being a highly skilled fighter pilot? I can't seem to find any evidence of that.
Re: Trillion Dollar Coins
From Wikipedia:
Born Tadeusz Wladyslaw Konopka to a Polish-American family in Terryville, Connecticut, Knight dropped out of high school to enlist for military service in World War II. He was a member of A Company, 296th Combat Engineer Battalion, earning five battle stars while serving in the European Theatre.

That means he helped build bridges for the infantry to cross rivers in the drive to Germany. The 286th CEB served in Belgium.

I saw that he received 5 (!) bronze stars but not that he was a fighter pilot. Anyone?

Re: Trillion Dollar Coins
No. Battle Stars are awarded to units that participate in a major battle. He did not earn five bronze stars.

Funny - your family leaves the house and do you feel relieved and want to take off your pants? Great laughs. Thank you.

Re: Trillion Dollar Coins
I really need this podcast to be happy, which maybe says more about me than this podcast. Thanks! The thing I like about it is that it's like sitting next to a table of interesting people at a bar and eavesdropping. Great stuff!

Re: Trillion Dollar Coins
As mama to six, there are times when I ask Papa Toad to just leave the house with everyone so I can be alone in my own home... Ah, the peace and quiet... The last time they bailed on me, they went to see Wreck-it Ralph... sooo glad to have missed that.
But I can honestly say I have never ever had any temptation to wonder around with no clothing or wear the spaghetti strainer as a codpiece....
We are all glad that EJ did not choose to photoshop that particular part of the show...

Re: Trillion Dollar Coins
Oh my -- when I looked at my alerts and saw that you had commented again on this thread EJ, I suddenly felt a moment of dread as I realized that I had inadvertently kind of sort of challenged you to do your worst... that was really really funny. And much milder than I am sure you could have been... (no, that's not a challenge either...)
