Grab a stool and have some martinis with us! Today, Jim and Greg applaud the powerful and peaceful protest for second amendment rights in Richmond and wonder if Gov. Northam’s fears of chaos were way overblown to try to portray responsible gun owners as extremists. They also get a kick out of Hillary Clinton attacking Bernie Sanders and marvel that this may be one of those rare instances where she appears to be telling the truth. And they roll their eyes as Washington becomes transfixed on a debate over the rules for the Senate impeachment trial.

Impeach*YAWN*ment news.
I don’t know if Democrats in Virginia have any risk of losing control, anyway. Does anyone believe that people who would have otherwise voted Republican, decided to vote Democrat instead because they didn’t believe the Democrats would REALLY go after guns?
And wouldn’t it be funny if McConnell is manipulating the Dems into insisting on a long trial so that their presidential candidates will be out of circulation for weeks/months?
That would be funny.
McConnell is trying to fix the Democratic primaries for Joe Biden?
Instead, let the Democratic Senators running for President register their votes now, and give them leave to return to the campaign.
P.S.: It’s likely thousands of gun owners in Virginia just didn’t bother to go to the polls, last time, but will next time.
I’m not so sure that Biden would necessarily be the nominee if they just “coast” for a few months. For example, the less time Sanders has to demonstrate what a loon he is, the more primary wins he might get. But it is a complicated calculation, for sure.
If they didn’t go last time because they figured it wouldn’t make a difference, is there evidence that it would make a difference if they did turn out? Won’t they still get out-voted just 3 to 1 instead of 4 to 1, or whatever?
The margins were certainly narrower in the historically Republican districts that gave control of the legislature to the Democrats.
Iowa primary voters expect a lot of TLC from their candidates. This gives an edge to the candidates who are not tied up in the Senate.
Voters especially Republican voters, should pay more attention to what Democrat candidates announce their intentions are. Even beyond what they historically actually do even if they don’t admit it up front.
Most likely the Democratic candidates in the swing districts prevaricated according to form: “I’m a hunter myself!” “I support the Second Amendment!” “Blah blah common sense gun control blah blah!”
Yes but Republican voters, especially in places like Virginia, shouldn’t fall for that.
