Judging The Judge

We’ve reached peak news cycle. So much going on. And when that happens, we reach out to people who make it their business to cover the news: that’s the WSJ’s Bill McGurn and the Washington Post’s Bob Costa. They help us sort through the Kavanaugh controversy, the scandals in the Catholic Church, trade wars with China, and some predictions about the upcoming mid-terms. Also, Rob Long deconstructs the old show biz adage that “nobody knows anything.” Listen!

Rob, the Democrats were acting this way long before Trump became a politician. Remember the Bork and Thomas hearings. Bush was called Hitler. The Democrats are not imitating Trump but instead are attempting to delay the vote until after the election.

    Ridiculous claim by @roblong

Also curious as to why he is convinced “something happened”. I am neither convinced nor unconvinced.

Why is it so easy to be convinced that men are abusers while not taking into account that women are sometimes liars. At a minimum they can be mistaken.

I took him to mean that something happened to her, but probably not by Kavanaugh.

It’s quite possible that nothing really happened, from anyone.

P.S. @roblong if you’re not making the payroll, maybe it’s time to cut back on the number of podcasts or something?

Yes-The Substandard is my first choice for cutting. It’s puerile.

Help! I was so grateful for Peter Robinson’s defense of the presumption of innocence and the rule of law I want to up my membership, but I can’t find the link.

I often disagree with Mr. Long, but I completely agree that non-medical people who insist on being addressed as “Dr.” have a bee in their bonnet.

Nooooo! The puerility (?) is why it’s awesome (well, that and the refreshing absence of politics). They’ll have to pry the Substandard from my cold, dead hands.

Plus “The Substandard” isn’t a Ricochet-produced podcast. Ricochet just carries it. I doubt there’s any expense to them at all.
