Today we take up the aftermath of the killing of Qasem Sulemani and the American political response to it as well as the politics of the coming impeachment trial. And we pay tribute to Gertrude Himmelfarb, who passed away last week at the age of 97. Give a listen.

Some Trump enemy leaks a draft letter and this confirms the chaos in the administration?

Christine Rosen is upset that a troop withdrawal draft letter has been leaked.

I assume that lots of test letters are drafted all the time for all sorts of possibilities.

Heck, that sort of thing happens all the time in Republican administrations.  The goal of Leftists in Washington is to cause trouble and chaos, and many of the “experts” would almost rather see the United States harmed and Iran supported (sort of like Obama) than work for President Trump for many various reasons.

Podhoretz thinks that 98% of Republicans in the U.S. Senate think Trump tried to blackmail Ukraine.  98% of Republicans don’t agree on anything.  Only 1.06 (0.02 x 53) senator believes or supports Trump?!  You guys got to get out more.  It’s like when I was watching a video of some of the most reasonable feminists ever the other day; they were convinced that 100% of everyone believed Christine Blasey Ford, not Brett Kavanaugh.

I also enjoyed Podhoretz’s dream fantasy that President Trump said something that would cause Trump to be removed from office.

I like Trump punching back.  I look forward to four more years of it.  Besides it doesn’t matter.  Donald Trump is the chief executive.  I think he can pretty much delay the aid until as long as he wants until the specific law says that it cannot be delayed any longer.  And he was impeached for helping Ukraine when Obama completely refused to do anything as Obama was the one who was really Putin’s stooge, not Trump.

    Rest in Peace Gertrude Himmelfarb

Personally I think they had the guy in the crosshairs for the first time in a while and they decided to take him out.  I dont think there is anything more complicated than that.

No. The Iraqi government leaked a letter that they had received, which the administration admits was a draft letter that didn’t reflect current policy and was never supposed to have been sent out. Is that not disorganized administration?

The specific law says that the aid cannot be delayed at all – unless the money is at risk of going to terrorism or corruption or one of a very limited list of other reasons. Past corruption in an industry that has nothing to do with the aid is not on that list.
