Out here in Silicon Valley we are always on the lookout for the Next Big Thing. Back in the ‘90s eBay was one such, pioneering an electronic flea market for exchanging your worthless junk with somebody else’s. Perfect. And profitable.
The Wisconsin imbroglio rings my entrepreneurial bell on another potential hit. eRep will be a nationwide electronic marketplace for unwanted state legislators. Seemingly unavoidable votes coming up in you capital to stave off disaster or even restore full Indiana-style fiscal sanity? Avoid ‘em by swapping your dissipated liberal legislators with those from other formerly liberal-dominated insolvent states—the supply is plentiful, after all. Keep hope alive by staying away from The Man, and your constituents.
True, space limitations prevent relocating all of your Democratic officeholders to Florida or Hawaii, but anyplace outside the reach of your state police should serve. And even cold weather states are chock-full of watering holes for the political class, where your pals can hole up until the money runs out and the Federal Reserve’s QE-whatever has turned the dollar into worthless pulp—enough time to get through the 2012 election, and that’s all that really matters, right? Ain't federalism grand?
I’ll just charge a small, reasonable commission on each transaction.

Perfect timing! Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) just announced that he will not run again for the US Senate. The early odds on favorite to fill his seat is Republican (former) congresswoman Heather Wilson.

After seeing Dr. Rahe's post on the Tilted Kilt, I suspect few fleeing dems would mind that place too much, and I suspect it is way cheaper than Hawaii.
