From NewsBusters:

During live coverage of the Republican National Convention here in Tampa, Yahoo! News Washington bureau chief David Chalian provided the perfect example of the pervasive anti-Republican bias Mitt Romney faces in his bid to unseat President Barack Obama.

In video broadcast Monday night by ABC over the Internet, Chalian can be heard claiming that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann are unconcerned about the fate of residents of the New Orleans area who are currently being hit by Hurricane Isaac.

“They aren’t concerned at all,” the person says on tape. “They are happy to have a party when black people drown.”

That line elicits laughter from several employees listening in on the joke.

Isn't Obama fund raising right now?

(I know I know, he's been fund raising almost non-stop for months now).

Once the bigwigs at Yahoo! see that video, Mr. Chalian better be ready to face the consequences: raise, promotion, etc.

That was a dude?! It sounded like a woman's voice. Well, not only does Mr. Chalian expose his obvious bias, he sounds like a girl.

Democrat leaders ARE the modern American slave owners, and the Democratic Party machine is their plantation.  But when blacks escape today, they just assassinate their characters, not their bodies. Loyal overseers in the mainstream press get their hit assignment and go to work.

Politifact rates this statement "mostly true."

Add this story to what some trolls on Wikipedia did to Mia Love's page, and you have a picture of a really classy movement.

Is it any wonder they embraced the Occupiers?

Whooopsie!

or as I saw on twitter: @YahooNews isn't concerned at all. They're happy to have a party while @DavidChalian languishes in the unemployment line...

The over/under on when he gets hired at MSNBC?  I'm setting it at 12 days.  Place your bets.

Naah. Algore's Current TV will want him to replace Keith O.

Guess Yahoo dumped him. 24/7 Media cycle is an interesting animal. Not, I am sure that the guys above them disagree, it is just he got caught.

He was fired, I believe.  I'm interested to see how quickly he is hired back after a "review" of his comments or is picked up by another organization.  The only crime that liberals would candidly acknowledge is that he got caught.  He's still salvageable in their eyes, or so I suspect.

So another media person says something disgusting about a Republican.  And the sun came up today.

Shocking, isn't it.

It's not that this isn't news, but is it?  I mean, are we surprised?  There is not a shred of doubt in my mind this type of attitude thoroughly permeates every news room.  Chalian embarrassed his employee, which is grounds for termination almost anywhere.  It won't do a thing to change the disgusting media culture.

It's a sad state of affairs when this kind of stuff doesn't even come close to shocking anyone anymore.

The media, having invested so much of their "credibility capital" in getting Obama elected in 2008, is not going to let him go down without a fight now. So stories like this should not surprise anyone.
