It happened early in the year, January 5th I believe.  The newly elected GOP majority formally took their seats in the House of Representatives and caused a divided federal government.

Unfortunately, the political realities [soft politicians and a voting public that cannot tolerate attacking their pet Leviathan] have been a terrible obstacle for undoing those things which need to be undone.  Time is a wasting and time is running out.

What's a conservative moment? They are all too fleeting - I must have missed every one of them.

Canada elects a Conservative government, which begins dismantling socialist policies (long gun registry, Canada Wheat Board, etc).

I second that!  I'm glad I voted for them.

For those of us who think cultural issues are as important as any other in conservatism, I loved seeing the Canadian government chuck aside Labour's old "maritime command, air command", etc, and bring back the old service names... Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force, etc. Canadian liberals growled long and loud about it... "return to imperialism", and all that rot... but most Canadians seem fine with it.
