I'm not sure if you've seen this yet.  It just popped across my screen.

It's a simple story, really.  Boy meets girl.  Boy and girl go out.  Boy breaks up with girl.

Snag: girl is a dentist.

From The Telegraph:

Anna Mackowiak, 34, is facing jail after taking her revenge on 45-year-old Marek Olszewski when he turned up at her surgery with toothache just days after breaking up with her.

She gave him a heavy dose of anaesthetic and plucked his teeth out.

She then wrapped his head and jaw in a bandage to stop him opening his mouth and said there had been complications and he would need to see a specialist.

The dentist, who works in Wroclaw, Poland, said: ‘I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions.

'But when I saw him lying there I just thought, "What a b******".'

Mr Olszewski said: 'I knew something was wrong because when I woke up I couldn’t feel any teeth and my jaw was strapped up with bandages.

So many questions.  Like, no other dentists you could go to?  Really?

This might be a case for "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth".  Anna Mackowiak, if the story is true, can maybe get away with being overcome by emotions for the first few teeth but when does it turn into cold-blooded vengeance?  The sad part is no one was there to stop it mid-mouth. For Anna Mackowiak, Marek Olszewsk was at one time "the one" for her.  She showered special attention on him.  When the dreams went south she could not help one more time "showering special attention" on him.

Hell has no fury as a woman scorned, but give the woman a DDS and she could teach Torquemada a few things.

After Diabolical Dentistry vengeance is something that should not only be served cold but pureed. :-|

Bryan G. Stephens: If true, she should go to prison for life. This is a horrible crime of mutilation. It does not matter that he dumped her. She violated the trust of a patient under her care in the most horrible way she could. She is an affront to her profession and all helping professions and her life should be ruined forever. · 3 hours ago

Banned from practicing dentistry ever again perhaps, butlifein prison ? Come on - murderers don't get that in most of Europe.

What she did isn't all that much worse than the butchery NHS dentists in the UK have perpetrated for decades !

A bit of  jail time for assault maybe, and financial compensation....and pay for her ex to take a course in basic common sense.... · 3 hours ago

In 2008, I found socialized dentistry to be the most effective way of giving people pause for thought on socialized medicine as a whole. People have been fed a lot of bs about the benefits of government hip replacements, but they know that British teeth are not what they want. (Or, in an alternative locution, not what they want their daughters marrying).

No, I'm smart enough not to date my dentist.

In case the situation ever arises where, perhaps at a meet-up, a well meaning dentist from Ricochet notices that I've passed out (a pretty good meet-up, in other words), I'd like it to be on record that I would prefer not to have all my teeth extracted.

I, for one, stand against JC's Dental Darwinism.

That might be a question if what she did was a mere embarrassment or inconvenience without permanent harm.  This was a savage act of mayhem on a helpless victim over which she held a position of trust and, at that moment, absolute power.

What other questions do you have?

Good point. I wasn't sure that Europeans had a word for dentist.

"She gave him a heavy dose of anaesthetic and plucked his teeth out."

You've got to love the choice of verb there. Plucked. I wonder if the journalist agonized over the thesaurus or if it just came to him.

This is incredibly savage. I can't fathom how a woman could extract tooth after tooth, taking hold of each one with her instrument, rocking it to and fro, until the root breaks and the tooth is free, then dispensing the tooth, clasping the next one, and repeating the gory process.

Of course, had this happened in West Virginia*, we'd only be talking about a couple of teeth, and it would really just have given him a cleaner look.

*I kid! My family's from Mississippi, I was born in Arkansas, and I live in East Texas, where all great strides in meth-manufacturing technology are made.

This kind of dental revenge was part of the plot line of the very amusing film, "Reuben, Reuben" starring Tom Conti.  In the film the victim was having an affair with the dentist's wife, and, thinking the dentist didn't know about the affair, stopped in for some dental work.
