But why bother when my daughter said it so well in Colgate University's Maroon News? Regarding the TSA insanity:

That's exactly how a democratic society degenerates into a socialist one. We vote away our rights and freedoms because we're afraid, and we grant the government the power to do whatever it takes to make us feel safe (which is not the same as actually being safe – they can't make that guarantee). In this case, that fear takes the shape of a terrorist hijacking an airplane – and for the record, they have won when they scare us into relinquishing the freedom we Americans hold so dear.

Melodramatic? Perhaps. But maybe you'll understand just how far this new procedure goes when you're getting to second base with a TSA agent.

Who says all college kids are indoctrinated with Leftist gobbledygook?

How this is not unlawful search and seizure and a violation of the 4th Amendment of the Constitution is beyond me.

Some states don't even allow police checkpoints that stop any or all traffic on New Years Eve for this very reason.

There must be a REASONABLE suspicion that the person being searched is violating the law. Once these search procedures - pat downs, pat ups, feel ups, what have you - are applied indiscriminately to everyone it has to be a violation of the 4th Amendment because it's unreasonable to assume that everyone or anyone about to board a flight is already a suspect of a potential terrorist act.

The Constitution demands that law enforcement DOES discriminate based on suspicion of wrongdoing. Profiling may actually be Constitutional because it's based on a statistical probability which is based on a reasonable collection of factors - ethnicity, behavior, age, point of origin, nationality. Feeling up anyone classifies everyone as a threat which is unreasonable.

Has to be an abuse of the Constitution and has the potential for further abuse beyond airport terminals. Any tall building. Any school, college. Any museum. Sports arenas, shopping malls... where does it end?

I think what the federal government has in mind is creating a culture of submission. Once your private parts are defined as public parts when the government so decides, the ramparts are breached and the enemy can range free.
