Wisconsin Finally Bites The Bullet And Takes The Big Vote.

The AP is reporting that the Wisconsin legislature finally went ahead and voted to strip the public employees union of the collective bargaining rights in question. To quote my liberal friends when healthcare passed, "well, sure the legislative methods were unorthodox, but it's soooo good for the people, I glad it was done."

Great to see Republicans finally playing hardball and not going wobbly.

Now, it's up for those who support Walker and the Wisconsin senators to BACK THEM UP WITH MONEY for the inevitable union-led recall elections.

It's not over yet folks. I've been watching this from my home in Hartford Wisconsin. The union drones are occupying the Capitol while the police say "get out" (while whistling and rolling their eyes) then don't do anything. The Assembly has to convene tomorrow and vote on it before it goes to Governor Walker. Watch the mob make this all but impossible. This is the real moment of truth!

The mob in action here is really frightening to see. And I thought the Tea Party was bad! (kidding!)

Re: Wisconsin Finally Bites The Bullet And Takes The Big Vote.
If the mob makes it impossible to vote on this tomorrow- thanks to the police siding with the yoonyuns and ignoring the law- then it's possible the Governor might choose to order the National Guard to clear the Capitol. I read somewhere that a provision in Federal law added after the Kathleen Blanco deer-in-the-headlights reaction to Katrina allowed the President to take command of a state's National Guard under various circumstances.
I hope I'm simply misinformed. But I can see Obama deciding that he needs to take command of the Wisconsin NG to prevent the Capitol from being cleared- and here we come Constitutional crisis. Of course the left would be thrilled if that maneuver saved them from the beast Walker. But I bet big chunk of the populace would see incipient tyranny unfolding and react strongly against it.

In that eventuality Xennady, the Obama head on Mubarak body cartoons kind of draw themselves, don't they?

Apparently the protesters have successfully occupied the bottom two floors of the Capitol Building, with the police leaking the security arrangements and otherwise being ineffective. Security arrangements, including personnel, may change. They may need to rethink police unions in WI. The report is here.

This is an important message to the Tea Party. We are finding out that vandalizing a Capitol Building and conducting a physical intimidation campaign on sitting legislators all falls under the new civility. These are Obama's mercenaries terrorizing a state government, setting a new standard for political action across this country.
This fool sows the wind.

A mob occupying a state capitol is a pig that lipstick won't make smell sweet.
That is, I think a lot of folks who might be sympathetic to saintly teachers resisting brutal pay cuts- which is what the media is telling them is happening- will wonder why the hell it's a good idea to prevent the legislature from voting about all this.
That's my take at least. Personally, I think the political left is slowly scrubbing away the mystic chords of memory that make them and everyone else one people in one nation.
And they don't even seem to notice. Reminds me of the Confederate who offered to soak up all the blood spilled by secession with his handkerchief. No good will come of this.

I want video Sisyphus. I wonder if Al Jazeera has a live feed of the Wisconsin State House. This Hammity rerun isn't cutting it. I want to see broken windows.

The only footage I found so far from tonight was some union footage of protesters demanding a general strike. Somebody should put up 24x7 web cams.

Crowd is thinning.... If you can come to WI Capitol Bldg. it's open: please come keep the crowd numbers up! #WIUnion No police presence

RT @ckalegi: READ THE BILL they just passed. There's a section that allows state employees to be fired if they protest (page 16). #wiunion

I love those people. Man, I cannot understand why people would be wobbly in the first place--the public unions have clearly become exploitative, even moderate Republicans should be able to see that.

It's about time. And while they are at it they should ram through Voter ID, Concealed Carry and Right to Work legislation.

It's been done. Kennedy federalized the Alabama National Guard in 1963 when Wallace refused to integrate the University of Alabama. If Obama tried to repeat that it would be a clear signal we need to reinstate a REAL State Militia system again that the Governor controls.

The President has always been able to mobilize the National Guard, Blanco's incompetence notwithstanding. Federal intervention is prohibited by the constitution, unless the legislature invites the feds to help. If the legislature isn't in session, then the Governor can invite the feds in. Otherwise, nada. Posse Comitatus forbids the use of the military in a law enforcement capacity.
Until the US Constitution is amended, there is no other remedy for a governor's incompetence other than the ballot box or other state remedy.
