Will the Bottom Drop Out for the Democratic Ticket?
Tonight’s debate was again a major plus for the GOP. Biden was way too hot and irritatingly dismissive of Ryan. He was flat out wrong about the Libya. He hurt himself and the president. Ryan's manner was ideal: calm, controlled. His answers were well informed and well argued. You believed him... and liked him. Biden channeled the now defunct Air America, the leftist talk radio that was full of rage, a tone that put them out of business.

Krauthammer just stated that a debate transcript would make the debate a tie . . . the audio would give it to Biden . . but watching on TV . . . Ryan wins.

I agree (despite my "private message" :-)

Biden played the loud mouth golf cheat in Caddyshack. Like Clinton, who's a notorious golf cheat, but Bill comes off with more charm. Ryan will make up the difference in the judges booth and the television coverage.

Biden came off as a jerk, but he gave his base the red meat that they wanted, and the HufPo is declaring it a rout for Biden. We'll see what the undecided think over the next few days.

True to his party's mascot, Joe Biden put the "ass" in "assertive."
If, like Obama in the first POTUS debate, you get pummeled so badly that MSNBC hosts are mad at you, you're in trouble. If, like Biden in the veep debate, you're such an abrasive progressive jerk that MSNBC is giddy... you're in trouble.

Huffpo finally took a break from trying to find that Youtube video and watched the show ? Sort of OJ ending the search for Nicole's killer .

Smiling, nay, sneering. Biden lost.

Democrats like pompous jerks, willing to shade the truth, and Biden delivered. In that sense he won.

Let's wait awhile, and see how the CIA liked being thrown under the bus on Libya. That might come back to bite Biden.

This is a non-event at worst and a minor loss to the Dem ticket at best. I lean heavily towards non-event.

Can there be anything less relevant to our future than Joe Biden? If Obama died tomorrow and Biden was sworn in, he'd still be a blathering idiot whose only coherent policy would be enriching his campaign donors. In short, he’d be Obama with even less intellectual capacity and even more self-regard. Let’s pray for Obama’s health; that is until January when Barry can start writing his third autobiography.

Ryan won the television debate. Joe lost it with his rude, boorish, smirking behavior. And he told a few lies about Benghazi, lied about his votes in congress for Iran and Afghanistan wars.

Joe Biden is a gattling gun of lies - he knows you can't refute them all.
Ryan missed some good comeback opportunities and stuck to the script too much. I suspect the Romney team strongly recommended he play it safe, which he did like a good soldier.
Can't really fault him for that...

Re: Will the Bottom Drop Out for the Democratic Ticket?
I definitely agree Ryan missed opportunities - but the few jabs he landed were good ones. Easily my favorite point was when Ryan said something to the effect of "there aren't enough rich people and businesses to tax to pay for all their spending," which is absolutely key to the morally & mentally defunct progressive mindset.
Had Biden not been such a galactic jerk, Ryan's cautiousness could've proved a real problem tonight. Biden being who he is, I think the fact that Ryan didn't fight the liberal moderator, didn't defend every point masterfully, and didn't go for the throat has to have worked for most of the undecided voters watching.

I agree. Tonight republicans won over a few, if not more, independents and women by sticking to the game plan -- composure. Joe simply got already committed dems in a lather via his rude and obnoxious behavior, but I don't believe they swayed anyone their way.
