WikiLeaks: Michael Moore Film "Sicko" Banned in Cuba
A WikiLeaks cable reveals that -- drumroll please -- Cuba has an inferior, inhumane system of health care. Not that that comes as a surprise to anyone, except perhaps to Michael Moore and the members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Speaking of Michael Moore, the cable contains a juicy tidbit describing why his film "Sicko" was banned in Cuba.
[Source] stated that Cuban authorities have banned Michael Moore's documentary, "Sicko," as being subversive. Although the film's intent is to discredit the U.S. healthcare system by highlighting the excellence of the Cuban system, he said the regime knows the film is a myth and does not want to risk a popular backlash by showing to Cubans facilities that are clearly not available to the vast majority of them. When the FSHP showed Sicko to a group of [Cuban doctors], some became so disturbed at the blatant misrepresentation of healthcare in Cuba that they left the room.
I wonder if Michael Moore will now regret posting bail for Julian Assange.

See, that's the thing. Mr "I am saddened to have misjudged you" (as he said to the 19YO he was stalking) revealed a lot of stuff that puts the US in a good light and our enemies in a bad one. And then didn't redact the names of people fighting the good fight who will now be painfully killed.
Michael Moore regrets nothing. While much is in him, that ain't.

One of my professors showed this film in class last year (no way, a liberal professor) and what scares me is that 99.99% of the people in that class will spend the rest of their lives under the impression of Moore's agenda. They will point to the Cuban healthcare system as "superior" to ours, therefore demanding we must model ourselves after them.
Thank goodness for Ricochet!

Re: WikiLeaks: Michael Moore Film "Sicko" Banned in Cuba
The word "loathsome" was invented specifically for Michael Moore. Even then, it is not good enough unless you put it in italics — loathsome — in order to convey the level of revulsion he inspires. More than any other living person, because of his politics and his physical appearance, Michael Moore invites (and deserves) the ad hominem attack. Regretably, the Ricochet CoC prevents me from expanding on this juicy theme.
In conclusion: Michael Moore is utterly disgusting and makes Julian Assange look like a magnificent human being (no small feat).

A preponderance of liberals by now have come to disavow Micheal Moore, not because they are insightful or fair minded but because Moore had been caught in so many provable lies. I would recommend you complain to your school about this professor showing the work of a known propagandist in the classroom. Any google search will quickly encounter the long list of these easily provable lies. You might add this new tidbit as well. If you are really brave send the prof a copy.
In any case, I'm sorry you had to sit through that, and pay money for it too. BTW what do you think one class hour costs you? $50 ? $100? You might want to mention that to the Dean as well.

Apparently this story might not be true. Jake Tapper tweeted this link.

You may see a scintilla of regret pass over Moore's pasty expanse of cheek and mouth, but shame will never live there.
I gave him a copy of the City Journal (after I finished) one day when disembarking from a flight where I sat behind him. I told him "you really need to read this instead of Mother Jones". I thought it was strange that he got to board last. Maybe his celebrity so overwhelmed the folks at American. He was cleanshaven and looked to weigh about 320 pounds. Think of the shower curtain-ring guy minus the charm, warmth, and smile. But he thanked me. Darn it guys, I tried, but Al Gore must have told him that "there's money in those lies" .

Well, until someone other than Moore denies the story -- or offers evidence that it is untrue -- I prefer to believe it.
The irony is too delicious.

Tapper is an often respectable journalist who does not always hew to the liberal line. For example, during the campaign when Obama released the atrocious ad about McCain not being able to use a computer, Tapper debunked it:
I would love for the Sicko item to be true, but I want to know more before I'll buy into it. "Too good to check" is fun, but not correct. It is Michael Moore's approach to the world, and shouldn't be ours.
