When paid protesters show up to heckle the Republican presidential candidate, as they did in Michigan today, Mitt responds with verve.

Good.  At least that's an improvement from '08 when our guy would respond with something like, "My friends, nothing's wrong with those who would ask for four  years of Barack Obama. He's a good man."

Democrats are getting desperate, and are hoping to provoke Romney into making a mistake. That's all they have left as a strategy to run with.  The Obama campaign is being run out of Chicago now, according to reports I've seen. The playbook is Saul Alinsky with a Chicago twist.

River, have I heard right that Obama's Chicago staff numbers some 700 people?  What do they all do?

Collecting their Soros-funded paychecks, and coming up with ideas like, "let's pay people to heckle Romney!"

A Republican candidate with a retort? Haven't seen that in at least 8 years.

Um, a little ballot stuffing here, a little voter intimidation there, a little filing of nuisance suits by the whiter-shirted of the crew.  Am I wrong?

Just like most lefty attempts at doing something, the end result is the opposite of what they intended.

Once the full implications of Holder's tenure at--you should pardon the expression--Justice will have been revealed, Obama will show himself to all but the truest of believers, more corrupt than Nixon.  No Rousseau-romantic McGovern challenging Nixon; the Alinsky-ite faces an economically savvy Romney instead, the very fellow for whom plebs nunc clamat clamorose.

I'd post something clever but I'm still looking for the browser setting to get this page back to English; be back in a jiff.

(Just kidding - I looked it up.)

Now, that's what I like, a post from a citizen of one of few European countries with a rational government.  You are right, too many of our Republicans have cowered too timidly.  But those days must be dismissed lest we allow our great republic to slip away into supine socialism.  That wouldn't help you sensible folk in Europe at all.

Gaudeamus et litteratis laudemus.  Salve, speculator. Tu es, enimvero, vir bonus. Sed nunc patria cara vulnera est. Adiuva nos, si tibi placet.

Estonians were split about Toomas Ilves' twitter bashing of Krugman. It was seen by many as un-presidential, and stooping to ad hominem.
Personally, I thought it was one of the best things he has done in his terms. The audience wasn't the Estonian people. It was elite power circles in the States and West. And they know, all things considering, there are parts of Europe that never enter in the conversation that are doing very well right now.
I don't think this smack-talk  is any different. Romney has some fight in him. It makes his opponents look stupid, and braces the troops.

He may be a loathsome weasel, but my word, he's an effective loathsome weasel! Well done, Mitt!
