Why Romney Will Win, Part 2

From the Washington Times:
President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.
Coupled with the House's rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama's budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.

Imagine that. Not a single non-racist in Congress. Where was the Congressional Black Caucus? Aren't they supposed to have to vote for it, or something?

This guy isn't about watching our money. His sole concern is buying votes with it.

Re: Why Romney Will Win, Part 2
It's pretty sad when your proposed budget is so gawd-awful that not even your own sycophants can be bothered to support it.

Seeing how Obama didn't receive a single vote, what's he buying with? Drachmas?

Third party checks drawn on the Royal Bank of Albania, probably.

I await the inevitable NYT headline:

Sigh... of...relief (!) that someone has finally quoted from my favorite D.C. newspaper. My concern continues to be that voters (Dems, Indies and even some Republicans) aren't fiscally literate enough to understand this story and will continue to vote for- as Mitch Daniels so astutely declared after the 2008 election- "the fashion statement."

And FYI, the ride is fixed now. It wasn't working properly because the Ryan kid stuck a plastic toy in the hole that lets the water in.

I cite The Washington Times with some frequency here on Ricochet. It continues to astound me that the paper is not listed under the Ricochet "sites we like" section but the Washington Post is.

Couldn't agree more. As a resident of Florida, the mega-WaPo was unable to provide home delivery, but the Washington Times has managed to figure it out! (As an aside, and while we're on the topic of the Times, I continue to miss Tony Blankley.)

Re: Why Romney Will Win, Part 2
For the historians: Has there ever been a president whose budgets have been dismissed so summarily ?
In normal times, the president and house produce competing budgets, then negotiations begin (with the Senate chiming in)--but in Obama's case, every single member of Congress simply rejects his budgets out of hand.
Yes, I know that Obama is calculating, but has there ever been a president so oblivious and unserious about the present crisis (and every president has a "present crisis" to deal with) than Obama?
Were the issue not so serious, it would be funny.

I miss Blankely also. I console myself by reading Wes Pruden twice.

That was my question, too. He's got a track record of his budgets being unceremoniously laughed out of two chambers that themselves are laughing stocks, frequently, when it comes to budgeting. His first budget was killed 97-0 in 2009, I think - and the Democratically-controlled Senate hasn't bothered to pass a budget of their own since then.
Democrats: We're leading the way, America! Come get some!
I'm trying to think of a group of people I have less respect for now, but I'm struggling to find something, well, decent to say. So I'll cork it.

George,
Makes you wonder what Universe Obama is in. Of course, in 2009 I made the joke that Obama was getting all the Physicists to work on finding the Worm Hole to the next Universe. He would send Geithner through to borrow money over there becaue they had already borrowed all the money in this Universe.
I've got to stop making those jokes.
Regards,
Jim

Re: Why Romney Will Win, Part 2
It seems pretty clear what's going on. Obama and the Dems have conspired to not produce a budget so that the only fiscal position is taken by Republicans.
By not voting for an Obama budget, the Dems are able to distance themselves from him while being able to still attack their opposition. More than anything, they don't want a repeat of 2010.

Surely someone has standing to sue the government over spending money without a budget allocation?

But, but.. Continuing Budget Resolution! Yeah! and BUSH! Iraq War blood for Oil! Yeah! What about that? Digging out of a ditch! Prevented Second Great Depression?
Seriously, what is the Leftist talking point regarding the President's proposed budget getting zero votes? Do they even have one, or is it just "War on Women!" and "Shut up Bigot!" from here on out?
