Why Is Planned Parenthood Scared?
The Huffington Post broke a rather interesting story a few days ago. I can't stop thinking about it. The story is that Planned Parenthood is freaking out because they think they're about to be exposed by undercover pro-life journalists engaged in yet another sting.
You may remember the stings that showed that Planned Parenthood doesn't do mammograms -- contra what they'd been claiming and to what the media claimed even after that sting. The same sting group showed that some affiliates would accept money for racist aims and coach a pimp and an underage prostitute on how to cover up their illicit business. All of this has been bad PR for the largest abortion provider in the country.
Now, Planned Parenthood worries that the pro-life journalists are at it again, showing that Planned Parenthood is willing to do sex-selective abortions. That is, they are worried about a number of affiliates being asked about killing unborn children who are female just because they are female.
I read through almost this entire Huffington Post story with a question: Does Planned Parenthood do sex-selective abortions? In other words, I wondered, why are they worried? Then I got to this paragraph near the end:
While Planned Parenthood condemns seeking abortions on the basis of the gender of the fetus, Cooney said the provider is also "committed to providing high-quality, confidential, nonjudgmental care to all who come into our health centers." While Planned Parenthood staffers are extensively trained to answer unusual and difficult questions and to refer women to necessary counseling, none of its clinics will deny a woman an abortion based on her reasons for wanting one, except in those states that explicitly prohibit sex-selection abortion (Arizona, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Illinois).
Wait, so while they "condemn" killing a baby because of her gender, they'll also do it? This leaves me with two thoughts. One is that I can see, now, why Planned Parenthood is worried about this sting. The second is that they must have a drastically different definition of the word "condemn" than I do.

Re: Why Is Planned Parenthood Scared?
I read the headline, Why is Planned Parenthood Scared?, and thought, "They woke up this morning and realized they'd be held to account by God." I guess not.

Well, I only have 2 cents worth of comment, but you cannot blame men as the root cause of abortion when men have been removed from the decision-making process. Especially since in today's America men will be made to pay child support regardless of the circumstances of conception.
Before you ask; yes, even in the case where a woman rapes a male, the male has been made to pay child support (or face jail).

I left unsaid that the woman makes the final call to have an abortion or not. Your points are well taken. I am not trying to say woman are blameless. But to make my point in another way, all pregnancies are caused by men so all abortions (a terminated pregnancy) are caused by men. (Of course excepting women raping men and IVF pregnancies.)
A man can't legal stop a pregnant woman from having an abortion of his child but he chooses to do the one thing that will start a pregnancy.
If you were to assign a percentage between a man and a woman, what percentage blame would you assign to both for an abortion?

Well, given your admissions that 1. women have the final say regarding abortion, 2. that men have no say over the abortion itself and 3. that men will be compelled to pay to support any issue from the relation, even those issues obtained by fraud or rape - even that men will be compelled to pay despite the child not being theirs and finally 4. the state will dutifully confiscate vast sums of money from the taxpaying class to support the mom to be.
I guess my answer is 100% women, 0% men.
Think of is as empowerment.

On the planet that I live on many woman get abortions that are paid for by men. Sometimes by much older men. They are begged to get abortions by men. Their young boyfriends don't want to pay for the baby so they help their young girlfriends get abortions. Father persuade their daughters to get abortions. Doctors who are men perform the abortions.
Are you serious with 0% responsibility for men?

They are not pathogens but they are the leading cause of unwanted pregnancy that lead to abortions.
What percentage of unwanted pregnancies do you think end in abortions?

It is a function of where the decision lies - and it lies solely with the woman.
Now, if you would like to address the motivations of both the abortion provider AND the men involved (for example, the collusion of Planned Parenthood and the 'Pimp/Prostitute' who might need a provider to enable them to further their underage sex trafficing) then yes the men bear some responsibility.
Since you are so incredulous, I'll go for 1 in 10,000 or 0.01%. In either case, solve the bigger problem first - you get more payoff per unit of effort invested.

"Since you are so incredulous" is probably not a very nice way to start an answer but thanks anyway for taking your time and responding to my comments. I respect you and your opinions and hope that was shown in my responses, if not, sorry. Wish you well and hope to agree and disagree with you in the future.

Oh sorry, I take the phrase "since you are so incredulous" to mean "since you can't believe what I say the first time". Please accept my abject apology.
However, since you opened your response to me with this,
perhaps "abject" is the wrong adjective. Would you care to suggest another?

If I can be good friends with really militant liberal activists we dont have much of a problem here. Not everybody is going to get along on all things. =)
