So we're visiting the in-laws for a bit here in Cabo San Lucas. President Obama and the rest of the G-20 folks have all left town so things are back to normal.

It's 78 degrees out with a strong breeze. Here's my view (I'm swiping some wi-fi from the neighbors). It is so nice to be away from Washington, D.C. right now. And I'd say that even if Grandma and Grandpa weren't watching the children.

My husband said that announcing that we're here means that we'll be doing a Ricochet meet-up by the end of the week. I think he was joking.

We just made an impulse buy of some nopalitos at the local Wal-Mart. Anyone know how to prepare them? We realize we should have had that part down before we bought them.

I'm ready to host the Ricochet Bald Head Island meetup the first full week of August..... of course, knowing now that that is the time we are gone, I'm sure it will become the preferred Minneapolis date.

78F and that view?  I hate you.

Oh, sorry ... I meant, I love a jealous God . . . my own jealousy I'm supposed to suppress.  I sometimes get that all messed up.

Plenty of ways to eat those. If you have a cocina, cook them with potatoes, some tomato, onion, jalapeno. Or cold with lime, chili powder, sugar sprinkled on.Sabrosa !

Chop into desired pieces and saute in a spicy salsa with chopped onions and a little salt.  Enjoy them with some refried beans, sliced avocados and corn tortillas.  Hope that helps.

Oh, I don't know...we were planning on Monte in a few weeks then having Jenkins scoot us up to St. Moritz  in the Maybach Zeppy then we were going to hop on the Lear to Fiji. I've just gotten soooo bored with Cabo.

I almost tried for a Paris meetup, which would have happened today, because I was invited to a breakfast with Newt there. Then Newt pulled out at the last minute, after I'd booked my non-refundable flights, so I'm now staying in Germany with nothing to do, but I don't think we have any Cologne area members.

I don't know if I mentioned during the primaries that I thought Newt to be kind of a jerk, but last minute cancellations of international trips have not persuaded me otherwise. Grrr. "Weather" in German is "wetter" in both senses.

Hey James,

It's even wetter in Paris today, fine weather for a newt, as it were.

The best way to eat anything in Cabo San Lucas is with a heavy dose of Sammy Hagar music in the background.
