What the Berlinskis Do Together in Paris

After playing with the Play-Doh jungle extruders--which were great, highly recommended--we spent the afternoon watching talking cat videos:
And Leo just woke up, so now it's time for a long conversation about the proper place to faire pipi, a subject of--oh, whoops, well, that's okay, next time--and then we make coffee, and then breakfast, and then we're off to get a million vaccines at the tropical medicine hospital.
Question for you people with kids: How are you keeping up with the news and holding down jobs? It just doesn't seem physically possible.

We rely on our quick wits, glibness, and astonishing good looks to distract people from the fact we don't know what we're talking about.
LOOK OVER THERE!

Somehow, the status of Jerry Lewis as a deity in the pantheon of French comedy has been brought more clearly into focus.
Oh, and Leo? If trucks and trains start to lose their appeal, you can switch over to bulldozers.
Big bulldozers.

Somehow we manage to balance all three. Speaking of which, whatever happened with that Monica Lewinsky dustup? I assume impeachment. This George Bush Jr. character seems a doughty lad, think he's got a shot at the White House?

Sleep is overrated...
Re: What the Berlinskis Do Together in Paris
We just got back from the Pasteur Institute. Suffice to say that Leo was much less impressed by the miracle of vaccination than we were.

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter (who is raising my two year old grandson) called and asked, "Daddy, what is Occupy Wall Street?" My immediate response was to run over a couple of those orange construction zone cones. But I remember that it was a balancing act of sorts when my kids were young. They knew, however, that as long as their dad could watch Firing Line each Sunday, peace and tranquillity would reign in the house.

French cat video! That made my day. But I hope the French don't think they can challenge the USA's total dominance in the art of cat videos.

Having little ones was never much of a problem; when they are young they are entertained by just about anything; once they hit four or five you follow the traditional rule of go outside or make yourself useful. Outside invariably won. FWIW, this is my youngest's view from his latest occupation:
Perhaps they could offer Leo a job?

Oh Claire, what a morning to pose your question... after the third night in a row of nearly no sleep thanks to a charming 2-year-old who lives here in this house. Her father is now saying that if she doesn't let him sleep, he may kick her out. But then he kissed her on the head, so I'm not sure how serious the threat was.

Missed 7yr old basketball practice last night because the tree has been up for a week undecorated finally made its nakedness intolerable...probably somewhat like driving through Istanbul you just hope to get the general direction right and eventually you arrive somewhere.

How are you keeping up with the news and holding down jobs?
We take corporate jobs so we can do both simultaneously. These jobs also give us plenty of time for calling customer service, paying bills, and planning retirement.

Again with the funnies. Perhaps an overseas posting for you will eliminate my competition.
