We are the ones with some of the money.Would we rather see this on tv or some stupid ad trashing one of our candidates ?Maybe we should shake up the RNC and tell them that THIS IS THE CAMPAIGN. Or wait for the Tea Party, poor cousins and siblings, to do it .

Even as someone who is single, I don't hold the "wife said no" reason against these guys. If one understands marriage as a sacrament which makes two people "one flesh" and joins their lives together, then one should also accept that such a momentous family decision cannot be made without the wife's agreement. It is not his life alone to offer. His life belongs to her, and hers to him. The decision to run for President should be made together.

But they (or their wives) are indeed fools if they think that the immense pressures placed on a Presidential candidate's family would be less trying than the hardships their children will face if this country's course is not corrected fast.

My thoughst exactly. I was thinking which super PAC can I donate to to put this advertisement on TV in swing states for both president and Senate , congressional districts for close congressional races and web sites and TV shows online independents frequent.

That's his Member's pin. That gets him on the floor of the House.

I think it's smart for the Republicans to propose budgets,  thus emphasizing that they are behaving responsibly while the Democrats are shirking their duty.  From time to time somebody mentions how long it has been since a budget was passed but I believe this point should be hammered a lot harder.  Under the Westminster system a government unable to pass an annual budget would be deemed a government unable to govern and an election would be triggered.  A government that thought it had better thing to do would be inconceivable.

As I understand it,  a budget not only authorizes expenditures,  it authorizes the taxes needed to support it.  How long can they get away with the continuing resolution nonsense?  At what point does it become taxation without representation?

It's good to know there are fighters in the congress.  I wish we had a similar contender to the Presidency.

I wish I could vote for Ryan, but I can't fault someone for not running for president against an incumbent Democrat these days.  Few sane persons would be willing to expend the energy, money, and time, and further be subject to an obstinate, biased media who grow ever more visceral and hostile to conservatives of any degree.

Ryan has no duty to run, he has a duty to continue to alert the country to our impending fiscal collapse and if given a chance to make a realistic dent in all entitlement and other spending. The GOP has a duty to get a candidate ready who can beat Obama and they failed last time. We could easily attack Obama aggressively on his record and his plans for the future. We could easily prosecute criminal behavior on his administration's part, even an unsuccessful attempt at Holder will benefit the GOP. If this election is not about Obama and instead about whoever the GOP puts up, we lose.

if there's a brokered convention, for VP only, right? rubio's not experienced enough (like obama) and ryan lacks the name ID.

ryan made the right decision. he's not presidential material yet, he's just a single issue policy wonk. those who were calling for him to enter the race like bill kristol were desperate.

Drew in W - I agree! Such a simple thing to ge the white balance right and such a turn off when it is not! I don't know how difficult it is to correct in video (super easy in still), but for a message of that importance you would think they could get it tight.

He lectured on foreign policy months back, and what he said was sound as I recall.

Ryan's Budget if passed by both the houses would do nothing to solve the "debt crisis".    This career politician was not only in the Congress in 2008 he was there for 15 years prior to 2008 and voted for many of the things that fostered the crisis.  If Ryan wanted to do something about the "debt crisis" he and his careerist co-leaders could have refused to raise the debt ceiling until meaningful cuts were made in this years budget and entitlement reform was written into law. But instead they opted for one more farcical committee.  It is note worthy that their reason for not doing so was that it would have been politically to costly to allow the government to shut down for a few days.  Proposing non-binding resolutions that make meaningless promises that might take effect 5 or 10 years in the future is not  seriously addressing the problem.  I guess Mr Ryan is as immoral as his fellow career politicians that have been fostering the growth of big government for the last 2 decades.  Ryan's primary attribute is the people he is compared with.
