What Is Science?
I feel as though that's a question that I would not have had a problem answering in grade school, but seems less precise now. I would have said that science was the study of the natural world. Now, I'm not so sure.
It's at once a set of evidence to a conclusion, as in, "The science suggests..."
It's also some sort of god-like figure that doles out truth, as in, "Science has determined that so-and-so exists."
And then there is the one where "science" is a thing that is correct. If it's wrong, it's not science.
So tell me, what is science and how should that word be used in the context of global warming discussions?
