What Do You Think?

I spied this on Facebook and thought I'd share it. The writer is Big Hollywood blogger Joseph Lindsey.
Throw rocks, burn [stuff], scream in protest, and beat the press up in a foreign country and the US media calls you, "A people's movement unhappy with the government." Wear patriotic costumes, show silly signs, carry an American flag, and drink tea at your protest party, and the US media calls you racist.

Re: What Do You Think?
Simple. Violent protesters in Egypt could be good socialists, so they have to be given the benefit of the doubt, despite some recent unpleasantness. Obviously, the violent protesters in Egypt hate Americans, so that's a "good sign." The Tea Partiers on the other hand, love America and are definitely not socialists. "No hope" for them. They even support the US Constitution, as it stands, so obviously they're "evil monsters." The Tea Partiers practice ideological disagreement violence (with words)--the worst kind of violence, if you're a socialist utopian. I hope it all makes sense now.

Re: What Do You Think?
He's confusing the Egyptian anti-government protesters with the pro-government thugs. It's the latter beating up journalists.
But yeah, it's comical the lengths to which the American Left and their media enablers will go to delegitimize their opponents.

Re: What Do You Think?
That's an excellent observation.
The media are vampires: no reflection at all.

Media is all flash and little substance. Heaven forbid there should be any in depth study or reporting... My, they just might break a nail or muss their hair.. Not even the nerve to throw rocks, just accusations... How comfy for them.

What Stuart Creque said.
Lindsey's comment is like conflating the Tea Party with Code Pink, the SEIU, and International ANSWER. And throw in some baton-carrying New Black Panthers on camels.

I agree with the main thrust of what Mr. Lindsey says, but "'patriotic costumes' and 'silly signs'"? Lost me.

Always go with that answer. 60 percent of the time, it's right 100 percent of the time!

How do we know which side is beating up journalists?

Because (1) no one was beating up journalists until the pro-government thugs showed up, after Mubarak's speech; (2) the anti-government protesters benefit from the news coverage and want to encourage more of it; and (3) the journalists being beaten up, Anderson Cooper among them, have documented that it was the pro-Mubarak thugs beating them.
