I woke up this Election Day and checked Facebook. (Big mistake. Should have known better.)

This video is being posted as status by some of my Facebook friends. What do you think?

I remember better. And I remember who found these obvious union types and tried to give them the treasures of our country with special benefits, abrogated hundreds of years of contract law and gave them GM and Chrysler , let them ruin our schools, impoverish our cities and states and all the government asked in return was their complicity in massive voter fraud. Yup I remember! You want toast with that crow scramble buddy ?

I don't like the premise that government should be there to solve every single problem and predict unforeseen issues.

I remember which party has no respect for individual freedom, and can't tell the truth to save their lives, and it's the union-controlled Democrats.

That is actually a very good ad. A little long, and sort of weird that they forgot who the voters were before today. Still, a solid effort. Oddly, while my FB constituency is heavily moonbatted, haven't seen this one. My page consists of a link to Potter Puppet Pals: the Musical, and an admonition to some girl that "if loving you is a crime, then I shouldn't have left DNA on your laundry."

Love this, Paules. I was planning on linking to Peter's thing ... and then I might use this as my status! I'd just have to get ready for Facebook political war. Not sure I'm up for it.

Was it *your* admonition to "some girl," Kennedy? I certainly hope not. This is a family site. Also, did I miss the conversation where you explain your new photo?

Always fun to be the cat among the pigeons. Exhausting, though, I quite agree. Think of it as a yard sign. People want to put up a yard sign, you don't pick a fight about it. Doesn't stop you putting up your own sign, though.

I remember years of false bumper sticker homilies. I remember a roaring economy and 3% unemployment being constantly reported as economic failure (more recently, I remember virtual collapse being reported as modest improvement). I remember the 20th century pissant tyrants who were left unchecked and caused world wars costing hundreds of millions of lives. I remember that America could not avoid those conflicts. I remember when natural disasters started being blamed on people. I remember that those who believe that government will help are always disappointed. I remember that wealthy people endow museums, colleges, zoos, libraries, and charities. They buy art, they hire craftspeople and tradesmen, and they invest their own money in the good ideas of others – who, I remember, hire people….

The guy that remembers every major banking crisis since 1900 has a really good memory though.

I will remember this morning when my six-year-old destroyed the meaning of the secret ballot. As we are walking up to the table for me to sign in, he asks very loudly, "Are you going to get back the money the Dem'crats stole from you?"

Out of the mouths of babes...

Denise Moss

That is a really effective ad. I'm glad they got it out late. I only wish the conservatives here in California had thought of it first and Meg had put her money behind that! I just have the feeling on the left coast we won't be celebrating has hard as the rest of you guys.

Gotta love the liberal version of "Morning in America." Kind of a downer, don't you think?

I recall reading the Constitution and finding no authorization for each and every government program and guarantee these jacklegs fondly remember.

Creditors have better memories than debtors. - Benjamin Franklin.

The creators of this video would be well advised to remember who made them the world's greatest debtor.

When I saw this first somewhere else, and didn't know what it was for, and it started with "I remember" I thought it was going to be about 9-11.

This is a pretty effective ad, but I wonder whether it will work. Even if it does work this time, I suspect that it will come back and haunt the Dems as the unemployment rate remains exceedingly high (as it will). This video appeals to that old-time religion, but the white working class has been burned by the Dems time and again -- and with some frequency they have voted Republican in the past.

David Limbaugh

It's remarkable that they're still running against Bush and have nothing to offer based on their record in office.

George: I agree that you've captured the main takeaway from this ad. It's all negative, and mostly from the mouths of union thug types, as flownover aptly noted (I had the same thought when watching).

Also,it's remarkable that they're still running against Bush and have nothing to offer based on their record in office.

It would be one thing if Democrats defended their policies, but this is one distortion after another. Sadly, they have nothing left. I think that's so obvious here, coupled with the negativity, that this ad will NOT be effective beyond the constituencies Democrats already have locked up. So I say, let them circulate it to their hearts' content.

Beware the FB, appealing to people not motivated to vote. They're currently playing "which candidate will help you with your rent: click to find out" before you can even get to your stuff (OK, maybe it was youtube, but y'know, ubiquitous either way).

I know the rent is too damn high, but good Lord.
