Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, with her "testimony" on Benghazi, is performing a master's course on how to avoid responsibility for your actions.

Here, in context, she asks us what difference it makes how the Americans were killed in Libya. In her world, and that of the media, it makes no difference if they were killed by a drunk driver or Al Qaeda. And did we really blame a YouTube filmmaker? We don't recall. Does it really matter? Really?

Nice specs. I'm still curious about the Rose Law firm billing records and her remarkable cattle futures trading ability.

"No, it's the fact."  I think sums it up.

So it's "the fact" when avoiding interfering with a situation, but when accurately describing the information or seeking that information, it's irrelevant, right now, because it's not important, or something.

She seems to have learned a few things from Slick Willie.

I was actually thinking the same thing reading about the testimony this morning on the WSJ website. What precludes Clinton from saying whatever she pleases? If something different or even completely opposite is uncovered then the spin begins, and the media sholders shrug. Besides, this is old news, and more importantly to the media it's a "Fox News story" (another turrrism story).

It makes a difference for future policy in protecting and defending American embassies in these situations and in election results.  But she would never have thought of these reasons...

I would also throw in something about accountability, though such a quaint notion does not apply to members of the Obama administration.

"Oh, someone's son died under my watch, actually 4 of them I sent out to stand post in a warzone with no security. Who cares about the facts leading to their death? We need to work towards this never happening again!"

Eh, how does one arrive at a solution without the input of accurate/factual information of the problem? Maybe she meant we can base the solution on feelings.

If I was Senator Ron Johnson I would have been tempted to flip out and get nasty with her. I would have been getting even louder than Hillary and giving her a piece of my mind. Then, hopefully, I would have thought of a better way of making that point, perhaps more calmly.

It sure makes a huge difference in terms of the credibility of the State Department and our Executive Branch, Mrs. Clinton.  It also speaks to the competency of the response to the events as well as the lack of precautions.  There is a huge difference between a spontaneous protest caused by a video no one has heard of and a planned terrorist attack on a CIA facility.  I wish the Senator asking the questions would have fired back and not let her off the hook.

But that would make Johnson the old white man intimidating women in politics. Senator Rand Paul did it very well, draw examples of how ridiculous her argument is in a calm voice. As I posted here

What's with all the hand movements & gestures? Does anyone recall  a similar testimony? She may as well be selling Shamwows!, non-stick pans or some type of food processor. But wait, there's more!

The Clinton's and Obama will get away with it again. That was a given. The smartest lady in the world has 'taken responsibility'. Those responsible have new offices and titles. We really should just move on. Enough people have suffered.

Good catch on the glasses.  Those are the exact ones she used when she was The Cattle Futures Queen of Arkansas.  She took $1,000 and turned it into $100,000 just like that.  What a gal!  Unfortunately she misplaced those magic glasses and couldn't find the billing records for ever so long.  Good to see them back!

Molly, I know this is completely unfair and I'll probably get hammered for this, but I couldn't help thinking of this classic Jack Nicholson line.

Woman: How do you write women so well?

NIcholson: I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.

Hilarious (or should I say Hillary-ous).

But I think you guys are missing the point. The Leftist narrative is that the Islamic world is offended because we don't respect them. If only we did, everything would be OK. That YouTube film maker disrespected Islam. Riots ensued. Makes perfect sense.

This is called confirmation bias. It's not evil, just stupid.

Ah, now I have to watch it. Johnson (my Senator) is one of the few politicians in Washington I like right now.

Now it may have been so or otherwise; and if the ass really did not dance that night, yet greater and stranger wonders occurred than the dancing of an ass would have been.  In short, as the proverb of Zarathustra says: "What does it matter?"

From the WSJ.

After listing a battery of government reactions to the Sept. 11 assault in Libya, she praised the work force of her agency.

"They ask what they can do for their country," she said.

If I was on the panel and heard speechwriter platitudes like that, I would flip. Especially, knowing what transpired.

What difference would it make?

It would make a difference to those serving in posts beneath yours to see that the higher ups are held accountable for their failures.

It would make a difference to the American people, who just make be shaken out of their slumber and take a closer look at this administration.

It would make a difference to the men who lost their lives that day, that their story be told in full, and a difference to the men who tried to act but could not or were not allowed to.

It would make a difference because perhaps procedural changes of all sorts are necessary in our embassies and regional level commands to deal with these issues.

It would make a difference in the 2016 Presidential race if you and your husband were retired from the public eye with no hope of returning because of this disgrace.

It would make a difference to the filmmaker now held in prison on what seem like conveniently trumped up parole violations, or at the very least, staunchly enforced penalties completely coordinate with political expediency.

In short, Mrs. Clinton, what difference would it make? All the difference in the world.

There is no accountability or responsibility in DC.  They are above such bourgeois notions.  In a perfect world, someone lying that blatantly and being that flippant about mistakes that cost lives would be punched in the mouth.
