We are fortunate this week to have a second Guest Contributor. Assistant Professor of Politics at the great Hillsdale College and a colleague of our very own Paul Rahe, John Grant completed his Ph.D. at the University of Dallas.  At Hillsdale, Professor Grant teaches courses in American politics and political philosophy. His research lies in the specialties of American foreign policy, natural law tradition, and early modern political philosophy.  He has also agreed to share his analysis on contemporary presidential politics with us this week.

Do join me in welcoming Professor John Grant to Ricochet!

So, early modern political philosophy is 16th century, right?  Breaking out my leather-bound, gilt-edged, silk-beribboned Machiavelli.

At first I read John Galt, and wondered if the Libertarians in Ricochet had finally risen up. Welcome Professor Grant.
