Summertime and the listening is easy. Need audio accompaniment this weekend? We've got a number of podcasts for you to catch up on while you lounge around the beach, the back yard, or the ball park (you can do more than one thing at a time).

  • This week on the R> Podcast (or as we like to call it, The Show), we've got --count 'em--not one, but two governors on together. Haley Barbour and Mitch Daniels join Lileks, Robinson, and Long for a wide ranging chat on creating jobs, the key to winning back the presidency, and light bulbs. Some have called this show nothing more than a shameless exploitation of Peter Robinson's Rolodex, to which we say, "yes, and your point is?"
  • Last week, we released a new Law Talk with Epstein and Yoo and foolishly titled the episode Dial A Lawyer because we thought it was so cool that the professors answered questions from Ricochet members left on voice mail. However, some 400 comments later, we now realize we should have called it Professor Epstein Thinks Gay Marriage Is Just Dandy, Got A Problem With That? Thank you Ricochet members for this valuable insight into SEO.
  • Dave Carter drives an 18-wheeler back and forth across the country. You don't. But thanks to his new audio essay The View From The Cab, you too can experience the call of the open road and the romance of being a long haul trucker while stuck in beach traffic in your mini-van. Air horn not included.

Coming next week: Andrew Klavan on the Ricochet Podcast, Law Talk's John Yoo says the Declaration of Independence is unconstitutional, the return of über-bloggers Mickey Kaus and Jennifer Rubin, and more. Happy listening.

No, no, no, no, no....no one is complaining about exploiting Peter's Rolodex.  We're just marveling that we have access so cheaply.

Seriously, many of the people Peter knows command dizzying speaking fees and we get them for $3.58 a month?

Holy moly, what a deal!

Oh for chrissakes, "gay marriage" again?

Here's my take: It's not marriage.

Next!

Now let's talk about the freaking evisceration of the economy.

Point 1: It's a state issue.  To argue otherwise relies on ballooning the Commerce Clause, or on some other judicially-mandated, morbidly obese interpretation of the Constitution.

Point 2: All the time I spend talking about this nonsense is time I can never get back. Ever.

I will now invoke Kenneth's mantra. ;-)
