Washington DC Soirée, the Ides of October
The awesome, world famous Hemingways, Mollie and Mark, will be joining the excellent DC area Ricocheteers to celebrate of the lesser known Ides of October, when Julius Caesar's wife Portia warned him that she was uneasy owing to her vision of an episode of Klavan on the Culture. Julius, unable to wrap his frontal lobes around streaming, scoffed and went forth that day to secure funding for an off-season conquest of the Isle of Wight. Without Andrew Klavan, the history of day trips to the Isle might have been very, very different.
We will convene at 2PM, Saturday October 15th, at Kilroy's Restaurant at 5250A Port Royal Rd., Springfield, VA 22151, just off 495 at the Braddock Road exit, just a few feet outside the notorious Beltway. Kilroy's is a family restaurant with offerings to satisfy any palate or pocketbook, with an attached sports bar for post event analysis and play-by-play.
The only regret I have ever had from a Ricochet soirée is not having been involved in all of the conversations simultaneously. Great company. Great conversation.
Please RSVP in this thread so that we can assure seating for all.

Bummer - I call northern Virginia home when I'm not at school, so I wish I could be there! We'll have to hold another Ricochet soirée when I'm around.

Sisyphus;
I have a Scouting activity that ends @ 2 pm in downtown Annapolis, So after I drop off the boys I will head on over. Figure ~3pm at near legal speeds. I will check w/ Mrs GLD if she would like to go again...

Sisyphus, thanks so much for continuing to be the social coordinator (cat-herder?) for DC-area Rico-peeps. I'll do my best to make it to the October get-together (pending some ongoing family medical issues) and will RSVP as soon as I can.

Re: Washington DC Soirée, the Ides of October
Once again, my work travel is going to prevent me from making it. Eventually, I'll make one of these.

On consulting the calendar, it appears that the husband will be wetting a line in the Little Juniata that day--but I *should* be able to make it!
