Walking to Daddy

Just a feel-good video for Thursday, showing a boy with cerebal palsy greeting his dad -- a Marine come home. While the father of six, Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney, was deployed in Afghanistan, his young son learned to walk. Watch and weep:

Indeed! This is a good one, Bill. These "soldiers returning home" videos are always wonderful, but this one may be tops. Thanks for sharing it.

I hope you're planning to subsidize my tissue supply, Mr. McGurn. That's so beautiful.
Re: Walking to Daddy
I never cry at movies (maybe I got a little misty when Mick died in Rocky III).
But this one....damn. I can't say I never cry at movies anymore.

Re: Walking to Daddy
Nearly 4 hours later I watched it again and cried again. I'm just a sappy boy in a man's body I guess.

For the 12,000th time, where do we find such men?

<Sniff, Sniff> while grinning broadly...Thank you!
Re: Walking to Daddy
I came across this post while at work today but didn't dare watch the video. I'm at home now and, having just watched it, I know I made the right choice. Thank you Bill, and God bless that family.

Re: Walking to Daddy
There is no greater love that a man can have than to lay down his life for his friends, and no greater joy that a boy can have than to walk in his father's shoes. Bill, that brightened up a dismal week, and will brighten up many more: thank you.
