Re: View From The Cab #6: Old War Horses and Friends
Thanks for sharing the time with your friend, Dave. I suppose I'm lucky to work at the same facility I served at for almost 6 years while I was in the Navy. Almost every day I'm around some of the men I went to sea with, so the sea stories never stop flowing. I, too, sometimes long to wear the uniform again, but then I go to sleep in my own bed and remember how blessed I am to not only to have served, but also how blessed I am to be finished.

Agreed,...which is why Bob and I began the evening with a toast to those that didn't come back. Thanks for your service, TKP.

A couple of "old salts" for sure ... a great expression for anyone who has seen it all, done it all, lived it all, and now can tell it all ... you don't have to vacation on one of those grey boats to know how it all works and tell great stories

Re: View From The Cab #6: Old War Horses and Friends
Lord if you two don't remind me of the "Airport Crows" where I keep the plane tucked down, with their teasing and tails that can blow and entire afternoon when all you where heading out there to do was a quick oil change. Dave, thanks for the mushy remembrances, I really enjoy those guys and your stories.

Dave, I just caught up to this podcast, and let me add my thanks. I've mentioned to you a long time back I think that my dad was B52 Nav back in the days of SAC, and retired after 30 years a couple of years ago. I remember at the retirement ceremony him commenting to me that tech sergeants were a special breed. I'm going to have to point him to this podcast, as I'm certain he would enjoy it thoroughly.
Again, my thanks.
