Understanding How to Embed Links
I've noticed that many members of Ricochet don't embed their links, and I wonder if that's because they don't know how. If so, don't be embarrassed: I still don't know what the button on the far-right does, and I don't recommend you press it, because I just tried and it made my text disappear.
However, for those of you who'd like to embed your links--which will make your posts look cleaner and meaner--here's how you do it. Mouse over the text you'd like to embed, then look up: See that button, fifth from the right, that looks like a little paper clip? Press it. A window will open asking you for the address. You enter it, press OK, and there you go--you've embedded your link.
The fourth button from the right lets you upload photos, which I strongly encourage you to do, because everyone likes photos. The third from the right is for embedding YouTube videos. Same process. I don't know what the second-from-the-right does and I'm afraid to try it.
The sixth-from-the-right is for indenting quotes. Try it, you'll like it.
All of the buttons on the left, I think, are fairly self-explanatory: bold, italic, underline. I can't think of a single good reason to underline anything, though; it just looks ugly.
Then--moving rightward--you've got your bullet points, your numbered lists, and I'm not sure about the ones in the middle.
That thing on the left that says "Paragraph?" I wouldn't bother with it. I'm not sure what it's for and I've never had good results with it.
Good luck! Don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions. I'm sure someone here has the answer, even if I don't.

And in Ireland. New profile picture to mark the occasion. I might come up with something more imaginative overnight.

Re: Understanding How to Embed Links
I think my left cerebrum melted down reading this thread. How 'bout a Ricochet quicky video to illustrate the features? Just an idea.

Re: Understanding How to Embed Links
It should also be noted that the link box automatically puts in "http://" (1). I don't know why this is done, as almost always one is copying the url in the address bar, or directly from a link, and then the pasting doubles (2). So when creating a link, be sure to get rid of the original "http://" in the box, or your link will not work.
