You wouldn't know it from watching Al Jazeera, but there has reportedly been a five-fold increase in self-immolations since the beginning of the uprising:

Tunisia's long-time president resigned a year ago in the wake of nationwide protests, which began after the self-immolation of a young market trader. The BBC's Wyre Davies has uncovered alarming statistics which show there has been a huge rise in the number of people setting themselves on fire in Tunisia, despite the advent of democracy.

If it was major news before, shouldn't it be major news now?

In the moments before I brought up this page, I was thinking about those school boys killed in Iraq in recent days and was wondering if the MSM will provide a body count of dead Iraqis since the withdrawal of American troops. As John pointed out, it really isn't necessary to advance the narrative, is it?

We haven't gotten any war news from the msm since bho became potus.

The arab spring didn't turn quite so well, so that too will be squelched. Combine that with a typical islamist press censorship and even you will have trouble finding the truth.

Thanks to the legacy media the people can rally now and chant, "The whole world is NOT watching!"  Too bad so many people will never even get the "one person, one vote, one time" treatment.  If they had full, fair and free elections in Tunisia already I  missed it.  Egypt is at least pretending.  Libya is apparently locked into the classic line that they will be ready for elections in the future, with the fighting slowly fading away from everyone's  minds it may be possible.  Syria, well there is is still the bad old days.
