Trump's Out
In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, Donald Trump announced that he will not be moderating the Newsmax debate in Iowa scheduled for December 27, which only Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum had agreed to attend.
The Republican Party candidates are very concerned that sometime after the final episode of The Apprentice, on May 20th, when the equal time provisions are no longer applicable to me, I will announce my candidacy for President of the United States as an Independent and that, unless I conclusively agree not to run as an Independent, they will not agree to attend or be a part of the Newsmax debate scheduled for December 27, 2011. It is very important to me that the right Republican candidate be chosen to defeat the failed and very destructive Obama Administration, but if that Republican, in my opinion, is not the right candidate, I am not willing to give up my right to run as an Independent candidate. Therefore, so that there is no conflict of interest within the Republican Party, I have decided not to be the moderator of the Newsmax debate. The American people are embarrassed by the gridlock currently taking place in Washington. I must leave all of my options open because, above all else, we must make America great again!

Re: Trump's Out
The headline states, "Trump's Out" but he's only talking about the "debate." Why oh why can't he be out of the running on the third party clearly, too?
The Republican's demonstrate daily they're the Stupid Party. Between this idiocy and everybody shooting at everybody else in the circular firing squad - everybody except Obama, that is - well, I'm getting depressed.
These guys and gal are losing sight of the goal and that is to get Obama out and a united House, Senate, and White House.
Sheesh!

Re: Trump's Out
When you are a strong debater like Newt it makes sense to take every offer to debate that comes down the road. Santorum is clearly desparate. The rest of the GOP field was wise to pass.
Trump was the loser here. What a chump!

Re: Trump's Out
For the life of me, I don't get why anyone--conservative or liberal--pays attention to this guy. If it were the 1800's, he'd be one of those traveling salesmen hawking snake oil and secret potions. Now that he is free to pursue other interests maybe some theater director can cast Trump as Harold Hill in a Music Man production--he'd, of course, be typecast.
That people buy his books, go to his casino, and watch his tv show amazes me. It seems to me that his children are fairly level-headed, hard working kids without the God complex of their father so I compliment him on that. On the other hand, maybe the kids get their good upbringing from their mother. All you need to know about Trump is to watch that one ESPN 30 on 30 show about the USFL and how Trump brought it down almost entirely by himself. Even now, when he was interviewed for the show, he was completely contrite and unapologetic. In the end, he got exactly what he deserved: $3.76. And that money will go a lot further than Trump's trustworthiness and integrity.

That it THE BEST photo of him I've ever seen.

I'm waiting for an angry Trump fan to scold me here in the comments for selecting such an unflattering picture of his toupee.

Re: Trump's Out
Toupee? Oh no, that is the flaxen mane of a Norse warrior. Fabio would be jealous of those locks. Or maybe he cut the hair off a My Pretty Pony and wove it into his comb over.

That hair!! Oh, the humanity.

Re: Trump's Out
I don't believe a word of it. Trump's ego is almost the size of Texas. He's "out" because only two candidates agreed to show up at His party. He's simply saving face.

That's not a toupee; that's an undiscovered mammal.

He's colored his hair deliberately to court the midwestern agricultural votes. The fiend.

Re: Trump's Out
Can anyone provide a step by step diagram of how he arranges that hair? I can't figure out if its a comb-over or a comb-down. Even the wind blown photo doesn't give me a clue.
