Trump Says No to Presidency, Yes to "Celebrity Apprentice"

NBC made a big headline at its upfront presentation today regarding Donald Trump. Trump took the stage to deliver the news: "After getting so many calls from NBC executives, I've decided that I will continue onward with The Apprentice. I will not be running for president, as much as I wanted to."
As much as he wanted to run for President of the United States, he simply couldn't. His duties on his reality television show were too compelling. The calls from network executives were too persuasive.
I think the Founders would be happy to hear this.

Early winner: Republican brand. A more dignified primary debate begins with Trump not being a part of said conversation.
Early loser: Leno and Letterman's joke writers.

I don't think that explanation was properly vetted, do you think?
Well, serendipity is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

Perhaps the TV executives wanted to save the country, too!

And who do the Republicans have now to throw haymakers at the President?
Pawlenty?
Suddenly, we're going to need a tough guy to take on the man who killed bin Laden. Donald was the only sharp puncher in the field.

Yeah ... whatever each one's motives were, the decision worked out well for all of us.

Sorry - can't pass up the Liberty Valance reference. (A favorite movie.) Remember, the man whom they said shot Liberty Valance was not the man who really shot Liberty Valance. Maybe life imitates art here.

On the upside, now he is free to search for the birth real certificate.

I was planning on voting for him, too. Now what am I going to do? I wonder if they'll get that natural born citizen thing worked out in time for Arnold to run.

Indeed - with apologies to Kenneth, why I don't favor Mitch Daniels, who could only swing ineffectively at Mr Obama, while he holds Mitch's forehead at arms length, outa range.
This is also why I favor Herman Cain and a coupla ladies - they can all fight.
Paul Ryan would demolish Mr Obama, by the force of intellect, but wants to be a Senator.
Chris Christie, likewise, by weight, but will need to commit suicide, first.
The less said about Newt and Romney, the better...

People who produce actual goods and services that are of benefit to the general public should not get into politics. Politics is where we send unproductive quasi-aristocrats to mark time and (hopefully) keep them from causing too much trouble. Whenever aproductive person enters politics, it means that there's one less productive person out there in the private sector actually producing things.
