Terrific start to the 2012 NCAA Championships. The NCAA website is vastly improved from just a couple years ago (although it does now include an annoying pop-up to the basketball tournament that obscures part of the bottom of the page). Early results include a couple of #4 seeds (Donald Vinson, Binghamton, 149; Walter Peppelman, Harvard, 157; and Christian Boley, Maryland, 197) getting knocked into the consolation bracket.
Early team scores: Penn State, 25.5; Minnesota, 25.0; Oklahoma State, 17.5; Cornell and Iowa, 17.0; Illinois, 14.0; Nebraska, 12.0; and a four-way tie for eighth place at 11.0: Edinboro, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Purdue.
It was also fun to find that KXIC-AM finally has a free live internet feed (last year it was $9.97 for the month, but of course I only cared about the three days of the tournament).
