Brad Watson here has shown reporters nationwide how it's done. Assuming we're not seeing fancy editing here, he has asked tough, pointed and knowledgeable questions of the President. I bet most politicians don't like to go against Watson, but he's doing a valuable service to his viewers.

And you have to watch to the end to see President Obama's reaction to the overall interview.

When you are an icon in your own mind even mild questioning is vexing. Drudge put a big headline on this ordinary interview, maybe thinking it will encourage the timid mice and useful idiots in the White House press corps to take a less adulatory line toward the narcissist-in-chief. Have you noticed that the word ratio of answers to questions with Obama is about a hundred to one?

That interview demonstrates why our candidate in 2012 needs to calmly and politely attack this guy in the debates. His bitter, thin-skinned nature would be exposed by an assertive happy-warrior type.

Compare and contrast with the Chuck Todd's or that other guy whose name I forget interviewing of Paul Ryan last week.  Interviews were much more hostile to Ryan--rude, sarcastic, incredulous, testy--while Ryan remained calm, clear, substantive, courteous, patient. He refused to be baited, refused to be pigeon-holed, showed himself to be better informed, more serious-minded, and just a bigger, nobler person than his interviewers.

In this we see the reverse.  It's embarrassing.

Jerry is right.  He's not used to being challenged and his doesn't handle it well.

The media have actually done a disservice to Obama. Paul Ryan, being conservative, knows nothing but a hostile media. He's prepared for them to be hostile. Obama is so used to leg-tingling reactions in reporters, he doesn't have the skills to respond. If this happens again (much less, again and again), it won't go over well for him.

I agree, Mollie.  Conservatives have had lots of practice dealing with hostile media, which has done them good.

I so hope Ryan ends up our nominee.

He is the un-Obama--strong everywhere the President is weak.

A Ryan-Rubio ticket would be unbeatable.

Exactly Scott, when we are bumped usually what spills out is what we are filled with.

I think the headline on a lot of other blogs 'Obama loses his cool' is a touch overstated. However, clearly, the Chosen One doesn't like his divinity questioned. But this is old hat for us on Richochet who already know this Alinskyite's reaction to reasonable opposition. The rest of the MSM isn't trotting out videos like this for everyone to see.

Mercy!!! Just makes me think even more about moving to TX! Love the fact that he asked direct questions, challenged the answers that clearly were laughable, but kept it respectful vs. what we typically see when it's reversed. As for Obama's crispiness that built up through the interview? Tough to be sittin' in the big chair, ain't it Mr. President? Good for them for keeping the camera rolling AND providing the subtitles, just in case the good folks back home couldn't understand The One's sultry baritone as he whined like a spoiled Emporer.

Why is this the first time I've ever heard anyone propose this ticket?  It's just too delicious.  Can hardly think of a better duo.

This video doesn’t quite live up to the build up it gets.  Yes, Obama was not pleased with the questions and became a little testy, but after reading about this video I went to get a cup of coffee and settled in for 2 minutes of watching Obama squirm.  That didn’t happen.  He certainly didn’t “lose his cool” as some websites are claiming.

Obama thinks he didn’t get to finish his answers, and any interviewer wanting to get him should let him do that because he digs himself into a hole with his long-windedness.  Obama would be a trial lawyer’s dream on cross examination.  All you’d have to do is ask him a tough question, one in which the answer is obvious to all, and then shut up while Obama hangs himself. If I were Brad Watson I’d certainly grant Obama’s request to let him finish his answers.

By the way, is it true Rick Perry took the stimulus money?  I thought he didn’t but I could be wrong.

This reminds me of the health-care summit with members of Congress. Of course, Obama was much more forceful and the mood was probably more tense but you can see he wants to shut down any opposition whatsoever. It's funny because he doesn't try to win the argument so much as he tries to get the other side to forfeit.

The President is simply a very unpleasant man. Mean-spirited and quick to anger, resentful and contemptuous.

Now that he has a fairly bleak record that he must run on and defend, I hope he is challenged on it relentlessly. It shouldn't be too difficult to goad him into blowing his top in front of the country on a regular basis. Put away the beanbags and get out the brickbats.

Ryan-Rubio sounds cool to me, too.

I'm sorry, but unless you compare it to an interview with a Chavez, or Assad, I'm not clear why this is an example of a reporter really taking on Obama.  The material discussed may not have left much reason to do so, but what's the big deal here; calling Obama out on the "few points v. "around 10 points" of election loss?  That makes you Ace Reporter?

(OK, Ace Reporter wasn't the point, but I also don't think Obama was that testy.  Maybe I am giving Obama too much credit, or have such low regard for him that I expect him to behave this way--or worse?)

Agreed. I really think Rubio will be president in 2016 if Obama wins next year

I sure like Obama being questioned hard, but also had heard something on the radio today that had me taking this with a grain of salt.  So I tracked this down.  Apparently this reporter not only has a reputation for being pushy and interruptive, he is also known to release selectively editted material that may convey a false impression.

I'll wait for the entire video to be released, before I'm interested.
