Toodle-oo Stanley!

This past week, Guest Contributor Stanley Kurtz explained that Obama opposes gay marriage (like he loves capitalism), wondered aloud what makes neocons and realists tick, helped Ruth Marcus find Waldo, lamented the never-ending Sixties, and tested the waters for a Gingrich 2012 bid. Folks, please join me in thanking Stanley for a fun-filled week of stimulating conversations. We hope he'll visit us again soon, but in the meantime be sure to check out the must-read Radical-in-Chief and to follow Stanley over at his home base on NRO.

Re: Toodle-oo Stanley!
I enjoyed Stanley's posts very much and hope he'll return for another guest shot. And, yes, I snagged the Kindle edition of Radical In Chief, which should be subtitled - in honor of those charming videos with the animated guy and gal - "Oh No."

Re: Toodle-oo Stanley!
Kurtz is wonderful. Ever since he came to my attention about nine years ago with his writings on same-sex marriage, I've considered him one of the most relentlessly brave writers out there. Come back soon.

Thank you, Mr. Kurz, for doing the job that the MSM was supposed to do during the 2008 election cycle. I'm convinced that if it were not for the alternative media, we would have suffered a socialist putsch in this country. Keep up the good work.

Stanley... I've followed you since I first noticed you on NRO some time back, and agree with the above. It isn't ALL about the "social issues", but until America realizes the foundation of freedom is the Western social compact, not the fiscal responsibility which it has birthed, we cannot restore what we have lost.
Is Rule of Law social or fiscal? Is property ownership social or fiscal? Is enforcement of contract social of Fiscal. I think many mistake our social foundation as merely the assumed nature of fiscal freedom. Keep reminding us.

Kurtz is all aces. I hope another aspect of the Obama presidency has caught his eye, one that the slumbering and complicit MSM has overlooked, and we will be treated to another exegesis as fine.

He also did an excellent "Uncommon Knowledge" with Peter that's worth watching. Thanks Stanley, your book was a big help and we were fortunate to have you here for a while. Come back soon!

Re: Toodle-oo Stanley!
One of the most interesting moments of the campaign was when Stanley went on WLS radio and the Obama campaign tried to shout him down and shut him down. He's so mild-mannered, reasonable and careful with his assessments, the vitriol and thuggish behavior from the Obaminions made it plain what we were dealing with.

Kurtz is great; and I've never seen Toodle-loo written down before; but isn't that expression primary used sarcasticly these days, as in "don't let the door hit you on the way out"?

Re: Toodle-oo Stanley!
I came here last week because of him in the first place. It seemed like pretty good odds that he'd give me a thoughtful response here to something he wrote at NRO. I hit paydirt here. He gave me around 75 words. I think he's one-of-a-kind. His research actually clarifies things instead of confusing them like most other academic researchers'. I've never read anything like "Radical in Chief." He has researched Obama's ideology and come up with the most incindiary conclusion imaginable under today's conditions. And "come up with" is the right description. Unlike most social science, Kurtz didn't start out to "prove" his conclusion. He actually found it out by research. I hope he'll do interviews with Jon Stewart, RachelMaddow et al. He's impossible to debate for anyone without his knowledge. Nobody but he even has such knowledge, which is why the only recourse is to shout him down, like in the 2008 campaign. It appears that today the only defense against him is to ignore him. He's a nice Jewish boy and all that but if the past is any guide, he ain't going away. Hang in there Dr Kurtz! You're my hero.

So the funny story here: we can't say "goodbye" or "farewell" in these sending off posts at the end of our guests' week because folks have complained that those words give the impression that the person has died. Last summer, in a sending off post at the end of Ed Driscoll's guest week, we wrote "Farewell Ed Driscoll," and numerous readers jumped to the conclusion that he'd passed away when they saw the title.
When you can't say "Goodbye" or "Farewell," what are you left with? Some foreign words, and, well, "Toodle-oo"!

LOL. Maybe "come back soon"?

Perhaps what I've stumbled upon is that in our interconnected world we either (1) never really say goodbye, or (2) have the illusion of connection which never ends....
