Thanks for posting this and bringing a Christmas memory tear to the eye of this aging boomer. I remember listening to many Tom Lehrer records when my folks would have a party. These parties could have easily been a set on Mad Men. Guy's wearing cool suits, nicely dressed women, tumblers of Scotch and a forest fire's worth of cigarette smoke. Everyone laughing and waiting for the lack of sobriety that would cause my dad to fetch the Rusty Warren and Redd Foxx albums. Good times, good times.
Mark Russell tried to mine Tom Lehrer's schtick but lacked the wry subversive qualities of the Master. Think I'm kidding? Listen to the Lehrer classic, The Old Dope Peddler. Comedy gold.
