An Oregon veterinarian used mouth to beak resuscitation to save a bald eagle under his care. Dr. Jeff Cooney practices in my husband's beautiful hometown of bend. The eagle, named Patriot, was found with a fractured wing and wounded leg. He went under anaesthesia for examination and stopped breathing. That's when Cooney did his American duty of performing mouth to beak.

You can keep track of the eagle's progress by following it on twitter @bendsbaldeagle.

Good on Dr. Jeff.  He must have missed that the gummint has been blanketing the airwaves with the amazing things accomplished by hands, as they have decided that "hands-only" CPR is the best tool to pitch to the public.

Which, I guess, is fine, but hands only just circulates increasingly deoxygenated blood, which doesn't much help somebody that hasn't been breathing recently.

I suspect this a secret gummint plan to resuscitate voters that have beeen oxygen deprived, but that have ID for the voting booth.
