Chapeau.

Iran has called on the British police to exercise restraint against people protesting over the killing of a Black man in London.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast urged the British government to order the police to stop their violent confrontation with the people, IRNA reported in the early hours of Tuesday.

Mehmanparast asked the British government to start dialogue with the protesters and to listen to their demands in order to calm the situation down.

The Iranian official also asked independent human rights organizations to investigate the killing in order to protect the civil rights and civil liberties.

In other news, Turkey has crossed over the Syrian border to "extend aid," this according to the "emergency situations agency."

Iranian protesters were shot at and killed even though they were peaceful protesters.

If the British police followed the Iranian model they would be riding round on motorbikes shooting random protesters in the face, arresting and beating any women protesters whose hair was uncovered, and stringing up any gay protesters from cranes.

That would certainly bring the protests to a stop, as it did in Iran (oh, I forgot - there are no gay people in Iran - they are dead).

Well, anyway, I am glad Turkey is extending aid to the Syrian protesters - that should really work out well.

Iran giving advice on how to handle demonstrators, and advising restraint?

What is the Farsi word for chutzpah?

Iran is constructing a narrative, in which Britain's rioters are equal to Syria's and Egypt's protesters. Iran will accuse of hypocrisy anyone who defended the Arab Spring protests, but denounces the London riots.

If only our State Department had the wit to respond: "Decadent Iranian sexual morals and consumerism will not be allowed to corrupt our the purity of youth."

Claire:  How can you consider dangerous the richly-ironic Iranian regime?  It's just a bunch of fun-loving guys (sorry, no gals allowed) creating funny press releases while they wait for the Twelfth Imam.  Just one big fraternity party.

That's a knee slapper.

.....Hey, wait a second.....I heard something about Iranian backed elements in Syria slaughtering civilians wholesale.....Nah! If Iran's calling for police restraint, they can't possibly be capable of that!
