Wow. Have the editors at Time Magazine taken one to many dips in the cool-aid hot tub? First this. Then this. How desperate has Time Magazine become to compete in an e-reading economy? I expect to see European editions with these covers, but not here. Even if the articles are more balanced than the covers, and in reference to the latter issue it's not, they are hateful. And sadly effective, because I noticed them. And how offensive to publish the latter during the High Holy Days. Or would they say topical? And even more incendiary during Peace Talks. (Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know...again.) As a lover of antiquities, it's nice to see Yellow Journalism making a comeback.

The MSM helps us keep track of where we are on the liturgical calendar.

We can tell it's the Jewish High Holy days when they attack Israel.

We can tell it's Christmas and Easter when they attack the pope, or "debunk" something or other about the teachings or life of Christ.

We can't keep track of when it's Eid or Ramadan though, because letters to the editor will get a whole lot more interesting if they attack Islam or The Prophet.

Why is anyone shocked or surprised by this? TIME is merely toeing the left-wing party line.

(1) They are anti-Israel and anti-Zionist (which is just a polite way of saying antisemitic).

(2) They are pro-Islam to the point of betraying their own Judeo-Christian country.

Need I point out that these two positions are not contradictory?

I was shocked. Guess I've been spending too much time reading the intelligent, well-reasoned opinions on Ricochet to see what the mainstream media thinks of me.

I had occasion to visit 3 supermarkets and 1 bookstore during the week Time carried the daisy "Peace" cover. I thoroughly enjoyed myself turning all copies of Time backwards & then placing multiple copies of other magazines in front of them. Very satisfying and no one ever looked at me askance!

Oh, I forgot, I also smuggled the copy out of my mother's cardiologist's office & destroyed it. I didn't go to college in the '70s for nothing!

Last night, after O'Donnell pulled off that upset in Delaware, I watched Karl Rove perform the mother of all tantrums on Fox. Well, this Time cover is of the same ilk: a loser publication, sweating in its loserdom, spewing hate. Of course Time is run by people who think that being anti Israel is NOT anti Semitic, and backing the PLO and its murders is a superior sort of "caring for the underdog". To think that I once subscribed to Time (OK, that was DECADES ago, but still..)

If I see that magazine around town, I will follow in the noble footsteps of Jeanne Patterson!

To be honest, I can think of nothing that would prevent the sale of Time magazine quite so effectively as the cover of Time magazine. Then again, I'm not their target demographic!
