This is Why I'm Not a College Democrat
"I'm a Democrat because I believe hope is the stuff of dreams, and I want to keep that hope alive". Pretty solid opening line, I might have switched it up personally, but that just has an epic rags to riches feel.
I was laughing pretty steadily throughout this entire video, and you will shortly understand why.
Purely emotional rhetoric and utopian idealism that makes this conglomerate of college students look like they grasp the issues as much as Anthony Weiner grasps how to send Twitter messages.
If this is the best College Democrats can do than I'd like to think a massive shift to conservatism on college campuses is on the horizon. Thanks for the help Dems!
UPDATE: The College Dems have removed the video out of shame, but the damage has already been done. Here is the video at Vimeo and it's over at National Review as well.

The shocking absence of good-looking people in that video is staggering. And here I was thinking I was a Democrat because all the cute girls were.
Also: when trying to change someone's mind about something, I find that the best approach is usually the montage.

Does the one who believes in civil rights believe in civil rights for unborn children? Especially ones whose genetic screens reveal Downs Syndrome or other imperfections?

Male college students go with the party that has the hottest women. So I was a Democrat many moons ago in college but if there had been such a parade of frumpish female ignorance back then I could have avoided that mistake.

Did these guys come down in the last rain? My G-d what a bunch of smug self-satisfied spouters of regurgitated college political rhetoric. Democrats the party of civil rights, I guess they never heard of President Lincoln being a Republican, nor Gov. George Wallace being a Democrat. Democrats believe in democracy and not a theocracy; - do they even know what that means?
When I was at University the usual way the left got people to join in on their liberal self-regard, was to sleep with them. Well that option is gone, looking at that clip.
(Did I see PC man from the Apple advertisement somewhere in there wearing a beige suit?)
I would cut them some slack if they were all twenty years old, but some were in their thirties to be sure.

You are woefully mistaken if you believe the appeal of liberalism has ever rested on so flimsy a basis as its' ability to make coherent economic arguments or its' adherents knowledge of history. With the crumbling of curriculum in schools that actual educate students to think I imagine vacuous appeals such as this one will find booming success.

There is certainly no doubt in their inability to make coherent economic arguments, but they were usually able to find some of the more attractive/charismatic/idealized students on campus. When you take away the attractive and charismatic, this video is the end result. And as we can tell, a huge fail.

It's hard to argue with any of that. By that I mean that, if there's a coherent thought anywhere in there, I missed it. I'm a conservative because I work for a living. Checkmate, dingbats.
I'm curious about the education remark; I know what "high-quality" education means but I have no idea what "fair" education means. I'll bet she's against vouchers and charter schools though.
"The party of civil rights" could easily be translated as "the party that forever sees people as categories based on; a) their skin color, b) their junk, and c) who or what they screw".
As to the production itself, 1) never shoot people in front of a plain white wall. It looks too much like a holding cell. 2) if you insist on shooting interviews in a room with crap acoustics, use lapel mics. And don't drown the subjects out by mixing music over top unless you're trying to keep viewers from realizing how stupid this is. In which case, mix the music louder still because I could still hear them.
