This Plan Has More Holes In It Than The Border Fence
Most of my Mexican friends and relatives are Catholics, non-political, or on the conservative side. Harry Reid's embarrassing recent statement aside, I want to share with you a conversation I had with one of my most radical Mexican friends. I finally felt it was time to ask the "well how do you like your Obama dude now?" question.
Fascinating; first she said "I warned my friends not to fall for his crap, he's a phony. They've deported more people during his tenure than during x amount of time with Bush."
Me: "Ya, and what about the drones!" That really got her going. I'm a decent pot stirrer.
Then the conversation went deep and I got the real story, beyond the re-conquista stuff. Maybe you are aware of this but I wasn't. The radical Latino left have their own economists and gurus, etc. that are touting the end times and a total economic collapse based on Obama and others getting the world into too much debt. Great, we all agree, sort of. But their plan is to allow this to happen, hasten it if need be and let a "new and improved" socialism take over the planet. This is a simplified version of it, but it's the basics.
They think that this is all it will take to get their "new" socialism established that hasn't been tried before, the kind with which (their hero) Hugo Chavez is having such success. She said that "you can just feel it in the air when you're down there, it's so wonderful what he's been able to do for the people."

Nothing new here. It's the Cloward-Piven strategy. Wreck the economy, over-load the safety net and have the community organizers out in the streets demanding "real" socialism.
It's working nicely so far...

Re: Hugo Chavez
Kill the dream (of self-made success,) and you've killed the capitalist. Then, what you're left with is docile children, grateful for their allowance. And if you're not so docile, then you're just a naughty child, throwing a tantrum. "Time out" for you.

Interesting comparison. Venezuela had been steadily declining for a long time when Chavez arrived to accelerate the pace to Warp speed. The USA had been drifting left for decades when Obama arrived and put 20 years of drift into 18 months of ..........vocabulary fails. Its almost as if they are competing.
Re: This Plan Has More Holes In It Than The Border Fence
I think they were competing but Chavez is not up against a freedom loving public like we have here. That's what these "Cloward-Piven" (thanks Kenneth) hard core socialists don't understand. The big debt may result in a revolution but it will be to preserve American ideals, like the Tea Party. Wishing for a revolution to change American values is a fantasy but these are young idealistic people (who drop out of the movement one by one when they grow up and stop craving attention). Many of them may even end up as Tea Partiers
