They Can't Be Serious
I heard some grumbling among the upper echelons of Democratic royalty yesterday. Evidently, Vice President Biden, among others, have referred to the Tea Party as, "terrorists." I doubt that they mean it, though, for that would require them to show the courage of their convictions and be consistent in their treatment of people who fall into that despised category.
For example, Richard Gere needs to plead for calm while a whole blood bank of bleeding hearts invites the nation to join in a dialogue to, "understand the rage." Perhaps Katie Couric could begin the collective introspection as liberals on both coasts try to understand, "why they don't like us."
Tolerance will be the watch word, as Tea Party members are welcomed on university campuses across the land. Students and faculty alike will sit quietly, heads bobbing up and down like Chris Dodd and Ted Kennedy at Hooters, in rapturous attention not seen since the last time Fidel Castro dropped by. Construction of a Conservative Cultural Center will be welcomed right smack in the middle of Harvard, where Ann Coulter will launch the Council on American Tea Party Relations and serve as its president.
The Supreme Court having already established a precedent for affording terrorists with Constitutional rights, perhaps that long forgotten document can get a breath of fresh air as it is applied to the people who actually pay the bills for a change. Who knows, maybe the individual mandate could be given Granny's pain pills and allowed to expire. For if there's one thing we know, it's that the left doesn't want to anger the terrorists.
Cartoonists and entertainers will find someone else to pick on. Chris Matthews' leg will be electrified when Allen West speaks, and will label all dissenters as racists. TSA agents will molest each other, and the IRS will audit Timothy Geithner. The Second Amendment will apply to citizens, and limousine liberals will have to forgo their bodyguards. If we play our cards right, there may even be sanctuary cities for us, where we could work, retain property rights, and get in state tuition just like illegal immigrants.
But that would never work. The left wouldn't hear of it, which is how we know that they don't seriously think of us as terrorists. We're just those mean adults who keep trying to tell them that having a checkbook is not the same thing as having money.

Re: They Can't Be Serious
The Divine Sarah has spoken. If we were really domestic terrorists, Obama would want to hang out with us, like Bill Ayers.
Power to the Palin !

Re: They Can't Be Serious
As long as we're terrorists anyway, I wonder if the Saudis would shoot us some campaign cash?

Re: They Can't Be Serious
Thanks, Dave. And let's not forget, the Left has already told us that "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."

This is why Mrs Palin remains my favorite candidate, in spite of Kenneth and Mr Murphy.
Dave - to get the full McEnroe effect - it's "you can. not be serious".
More seriously, the Democrat royalty do seriously think of us Hobbits as terrorists - remember Sheriff Dupnik and Ms Incompetano?
Soon, the TSA are going to be asking us "are you, or have you ever been, a member of the Tea Party"?

Dave, That is brilliant as usual. My brain is salivating with that thought of sanctuary cities.

Re: They Can't Be Serious
Extremists, racists, terrorists and so on; it seems that they have actually reached saturation here. It is difficult to imagine how further demagoguing can be effective or even how much lower our opponents can go when they have gone so far already. Is there not a point at which voters just tune it out?
