Then Sings My Soul
Earlier this evening I was driving through the Shenandoah Valley when I saw this sunset. And the words that sprang immediately to mind?
"O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my Soul, my Savior God, to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art."
This sunset contained no denominational boundaries, no lines of political demarcation. It was an equal opportunity occasion for gratitude and humility, which I for one could use a good dose of from time to time. Here's hoping you all have a great weekend.

Re: Then Sings My Soul
I like the Tennessee Ernie version.
The problem with musically simple songs is that a lot of singers go over the top on them, and this is one where that is gilding the lily.

Dave,
To quote a recent poster: You are an artist!
In fact, my recently joining Ricochet was largely the result of your posts.
Thanks again - and keep them coming!

Theologically, certainly. The song is not always done that way, however.

Ron, thank you!! And welcome! You really made my day.
Re: Then Sings My Soul
I gotta agree: No one sings the song as well as Carrie Underwood. Except maybe Elvis.

Re: Then Sings My Soul
Thanks Dave, for this beautiful post and picture. IMO, the best version of How Great Thou Art is by Selah, even tho' part of it is in Swahili- they're grown children of missionaries and it seems like they sometimes like to use their second language.
(But I do love Carrie Underwood!)
