Here's a much, much better way to choose a candidate:

As Jason Kottke points out, "They *start off* by biting into fluorescent light bulbs and it just gets more nuts from there."

I can think of worse ways to choose a candidate.

Don't they know those things have mercury in them?

That is so insane! They laugh at mercury, KP! Bwahahaha!

Yeah, that's not gonna work as a primary contest in these parts... the EPA and OSHA would be like white on rice with these guys.

P.S. I had to stop watching when they started running over them with cars...

Anyone who knows how to handle a Gurkha kukri is going to be a formidable candidate -- for anything.

And they wonder why the best minds don't join the contest....

I wonder if these guys know America has a government program that pays good money for stuff like this?

Gotta love the music, though. Nai Reesa by Jassi Sidhu.

I'd like to do pretty much the same thing with the many fluorescent bulbs I'm required to have in my house.

Sikhs are the toughest people on the planet. An Indian buddy was telling me about kids who did spying in Kashmir and Jammu during some of the tenser times. Sikh preteens would crack later than grown Hindu and Muslim men.

It's Blue Man Group, The Three Stooges, and Jackass  all at once!

You can say that again, Stuart.  Sometimes you run into a guy who just shouldn't be messed with.

Forty bandits versus one retired Ghurka.  The poor SOBs never stood a chance -- they had him surrounded.  And angry.

This is a Ghurka with his kukri.

During the time it took to watch that, Mitt Romney called me 3 times.  I was too appalled and mesmerized to move.

The most fascinating part was the audience of two.  An interesting contrast -- the foxy chick frozen in apparently genuine concern for the safety of the performers, and the dude holding the hanky to his face, apparently more concerned about the long-term effects of inhalation of mercury vapours on his own health.

Ahh, can't stop listening to the song from the video now:

It's got a good message too. Singing about Punjabi unity, regardless of religion or caste. Oh, that and the fact that Punjabis are a race of lions and stand apart amongst hundreds of thousands when in foreign lands.

A better solution for the TSA:  fire all the gropers at airport security.  Hire a few more bomb-sniffing dogs and put one of these guys with his Khukri on every flight.
