A few weeks ago Ann Coulter gave a talk in Los Angeles.  "You may wonder," she began, "how all these mob-like events--such as the Arab uprising and the flash mobs--just happened to coincide with the release of my book."  She paused.  Then explained, "I have THE best publicist."

If so, that publicist is working overtime.  In many ways, I believe, the current Wall Street protestors are following the mob-like behavior that that Coulter describes in her book.

Here is the most eerie way:  On the very first page of her book, she quotes from Mark 5:2-9.  Jesus approaches a crazy man, whom the people had tried to subdue with chains; however, he tore the chains apart.  When the man sees Jesus, he falls on his knees and asks Jesus not to hurt him.  Instead of hurting him, Jesus says, "Come out of this man, you impure spirit!"  Then Jesus asks him, "What is your name?"

"My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many."

Meanwhile, a video by “Anonymous” has surfaced on YouTube. In the video a computer-generated voice claims it will shut down the New York Stock Exchange website Monday.  Note the part at 1:49, where the voice says, "The voice of the people is the voice of Anonymous.  We are Legion."

The most committed anti-capitalist protestors on the street are not surprised by the energy and size of the demonstrations. They say, what took so long? They've been talking about doing this for a year or two. The problem is, very few people in the media--Coulter being an exception--give America's far-leftist activists the "respect" of listening carefully to their plans and taking them at their word. If you gather where they gather, and listen, you'll be horrified, but you'll get plenty of warning.

The leftist radicals of the sixties, and I was one, elected Richard Nixon, as president. This is great!

So, this dude thinks he's going to hack into the NYSE, but this is the best job he can do with voice synthesizer software?

Coulter knows how to sell books and cannot be accused of understatement.  The question asked when the Greek demonstration started is can this happen in the US?  Now that it has been answered one might want to ask if what is driving this could also manifest itself in other more subtle ways.  LeBon hints at some answers, but I think he does go far enough.   Coulter being primarily interested in denigrating the left probably does not entertain the question.

Something about the communist apparatchik standing in front of the United Nations logo bothers me.

It's interesting that he aims at Wall Street and yet blames the government for not doing its job. Why not go after the government with as much venom?

This is so obviously the Left winning the blame game again. Very interesting how the Left has orchestrated this by getting in early and blaming Wall Street, Capitalism and investors instead of the real source of this meltdown.

I think of the modern collectivist governments as sending dupes out walking around with cash visibly stuffed in their pockets and then being surprised that people keep coming up to them and 1) sucking up to them, 2) conning them and 3) stealing directly from them.

The rest of the story is that this government does have an efficient and effective side: that of the tax collectors and those pushing for higher taxes -- this is where all the acumen lies in the government. Yet, the dupes end up distributing and managing the money. ???

Obviously, the political class cares much more about damaging the wealth creators than doing something responsible with that wealth.
