What's a road warrior without an occasional new chariot?  Ricochet's road warrior, Dave Carter, has landed in a brand new 2012 truck which he describes as, "Like driving a brand new hotel."  Want to hear what it's like to do a house move from one semi to another?  Want to hear the new truck?  Listen in below.

Congratulations on the new truck, Dave!  Safe travel, and do try to visit as much of the Ricochet community as you can.

Congratulations, Dave!  Getting a new truck is kind of a big deal, isn't it.

Sounds like a delight.  I hope to get a guided tour someday when you glide into a San Francisco Bay area meetup.

The hair from your post a couple of days ago.  Was it in the old truck somewhere?

As long as America can create trucks like your new one, we're not done yet. [Was it made in America?]

Congratulations!  Btw, that interior looks nice enough to be in a regular car or pickup truck.

Dave, the real question: have you painted a Ricochet logo on the hood yet?

Good heavens Dave! Looks like you could rule the world from that dashboard.

Remember the BBQ offer is still open here in KC.

Safe travels....

Do all those gizmos and doo-dads have the power to make New York and New Jersey drivers behave?

Mark, I drove through the SF area last summer, I believe,...and could not scrounge of up a single truck stop to park.  There was one small truck stop, and the local truckers advised me to not even try it, since parking was limited mainly to a half dozen or so places on the side of the street, and those spaces were always full.   We euphemistically refer to such locales as "not truck friendly," which is a polite way of saying they want their stuff on the store shelves, but not the people who deliver their stuff.  This is the predominant limiting factor in where I can visit.

The hair is long gone (I developed a bald spot that was reaching "too big to fail" status, and I didn't want the Obama administrating federalizing it.

And yessir, my truck is American made.

No, but I did upgrade.  The spikes were fun, but they also got stolen occasionally, and are hard to replace.

Afraid not, Matt.  This thing does wonders,..but not miracles.

Wow.  I had forgotten about that photo.  Put the two side by side, and the change is pretty drastic.  The rest of the cab is even better.  I may do some more photos, or shoot a video or something.   It's really quite the layout.
