How charitable is the President of the United States? Well, this is a man so stout of spirit that he's taken time out of his busy schedule to cut Mitt Romney's attack ads for him:

This autumn, expect to be deluged by clips of the president extolling "how hard I work" juxtaposed with unemployment charts and shots of him hitting the links.

I wouldn't dare think that the man who Dana Milbank said just yesterday possesses "unrivaled political skill," needs any tactical advice from me, but if the president receives any future questions about popular sentiment that he's out of touch, he would do well to not (1) question the premise that the electorate is working from and (2) transition into a reflection upon how great he is.

Conservatives will see this as one more symptom of a president who's out to lunch. And honest liberals will understand that their guy hasn't quite recovered his A-game. In fact, there's only one constituency in America that is going to feel better about Obama after remarks like this: high-end Chicago real estate agents.

The gift that keeps on giving.

Wonder how much "actual" work he does.

I haven't seen a thread on this,  seems like as good a place for this comment as any:

Joe Biden is a cheap SOB (excuse the language).  1.5% to charity!  He does this year after year.   I would venture to say that  90% of conservatives would beat that figure... regardless of income!

In my limited experience, the person who's always telling you how hard they're working is the person doing either a) the least amount of work, or b) trying to make sure the boss and everyone else thinks they do a lot of work, so they can get back to doing a).

Real workers just get their sh*t done and don't run around telling Mommy how awesome they are for having done so.  When you spend so much time in front of a mirror, it's hard to know, I guess, what the rest of the world looks like.

I recall being nauseated every time I heard Bill Clinton speak. Now, each time this pompous, ridiculous man opens his mouth, I feel only disgust.

My favorite part of the president's non-response is his petulant query as to how many people have dared to voice their complaints. I almost expect him to be directing his staff after to interview to find out if they can obtain the names and addresses of the disloyal ones. Or put them up on Attack Waaaaatch...
